Description

Thai Tom is a favorite of students of the University of Washington just a block away. Throughout the day, Thai Tom is bustling and packed to the gills with college kids, so be prepared to wait at least a few minutes for a table. Once you're seated in the shabbily decorated restaurant, you'll find the menu to be typical Thai fare: phad Thai, curries, noodle soups, and stir-fried dishes. The service is quick and the food is fairly average, but be awaretheir star system for the spiciness level is high, so order one and a half stars if you usually request two. - Katie Kinney

Small place. Great food that comes fast.

Sit at the counter for the real fun of this place- watching Tom himself cook a million dishes at once, all at lightening speed and from feel more than anything else. Your spice specification seems a vague guide though, be warned. Not the best Thai in Seattle, but certainly for the U District, and somewhat of an institution there.

Go for the excellent Thai food. Be careful. Spicy starts at very spicy and quickly becomes painfully spicy, and I love spicy food.

Teeny place. Long line. Entertaining cooks. Slightly surly waiters. GREAT THAI FOOD! Go there!

Waited in line to get into this place. What's all the fuss about? A very mediocre Thai restaurant...
