I just came from Mae Phim, and they are so rude!! Yes they are busy whatever, I order Yum Neau, but since I didn't want to butcher the name I simply said number 20. So I wait and they made a number 3, I don't understand that mistake since one is a two syllable word and the other is a monosyllable. The woman at the register looked at me like it's my fault, not to talk about how half haphazardly they made the number 20. And I have eaten there before, but always w/ my old co-worker. So I am highly disappointed and with what I ordered. And the selection is not that great, I've had way better thai. I'd hate to think this was a racial thing.

Had the Beef Panang. The curry flavor was decent, but the beef was terrible. Kind of a stewed large chunked meat and it was super tough. I actually ate around it. I know this is just a review of one dish, but in my opinion it is a staple Thai meal and speaks to the quality of the restaurant. I was very disappointed considering that it is Zagat rated.

The food was tasty and was a very reasonable price. It would have been better if they used birds eye peppers instead of the dried red pepper like the kind you shake on pizza.

Best Thai Food Value in Seattle
By ,
I eat lots of Thai food. My wife is Thai. Both of us agree this is the best Thai restaurant for the money in Seattle. All the food choices are excellent and all $6. The cooks and staff are real Thais, not people posing as Thais. The place is very small so is jammed at lunch but is still surprisingly fast. Any weekday lunch you will likely wait in line if getting food to go or waiting for a table. They are open Saturday, go then to avoid the rush since they are very popular with locals for weekday lunch.

Authentic and really cheap
By ,
Hey all if you get a chance to make it to the PNW you have to try Mae Phim Thai Restaurant. It is very good and cheap. The restaurant is rather small so if you like listening to your neighbor this is the place for you. I really like their Chicken Fried Rice ***s (three stars). The Pad Thai is also very good, although I do not get tofu in mine. So if you get a chance swing by.

Absolutely THE best Thai in downtown Seattle
By ,
This place definitely fits under the 'hole-in-the-wall' category. During the lunch hour it is always bursting with happy customers. I have yet to find a dish I didn't love, all of which are hefty portions, and the under $6 menu is perfect for anyone's wallet.

Love this place
By ,
Yummy food, fast and friendly service, good price. Used to eat lunch there all the time, but don't work downtown any more. They take your order while you wait for a table and by the time you get a table, your food is ready. Now I go there in the early evening when I can. As far as ambiance, it's a very busy small lunch place, so it may not be the most relaxing but I generally don't mind having the hustle and bustle going on.
