Beth's Cafe Restaurant, Seattle

Saw Beth's on Man v. Food, it looked amazing. Decided we had to do it while visiting friends in the fremont area. We were not disappointed. The omelette's were out of this world. I don't think I've ever had eggs that tasted so great. The unlimited hash browns were also pretty delicious. I have to say, I did check the reviews before I came and alot of people whined about the service, well, either they were rude themselves, or they are just crazy, the entire staff was awesome. There were 2 waitresses in our area, and both checked on us ever 2-3 minutes, and drinks were refilled just as fast. Best part about it though, food aside, contributing to the artwork on the wall! Before the meal everyone gets crayons and paper. Top that! Would I recommend this? Hell yes! and don't wuss out, get the 12 egg!

I was impressed with Beths. From the outside and inside of the place it makes you kinda second guess your decision of going there,but the food is excellent when you try it! We went late at night and were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly and helpful giving us first-timers recommendations on what to order. I ordered their BIG Baked potato and a side of Hash-browns and both were just so delicious and satisfying! They also have wonderful and perfectly cooked bacon with what tasted like some sort of Honey Glaze. It wasn't too fatty, it wasn't dry and it wasn't too underdone. The food was great and aside the the physical appearance it was a good place to be. Our guest from out of town was even impressed! There are 2 Problems with this place: *Parking was horrible even on a weeknight every spot was taken and we had to park up the hill a ways.* AND the music they play inside was most defiantly too loud! I felt the they were trying to drown out the sound of people talking or something. It wasn't the best for tasteful ambiance,but then again you are at Beths were ambiance takes a back seat to the YUMMY food. Overall I would recommend this Greasy Spoon to others.

Beth's looks like garbage from the outside, which means when you find out what's on the inside you feel like you've been let in on Seattle's best secret. And you have. I doubt I'll ever find a restaurant that beats Beth's at its own game. It's a greasy spoon less retro than unlocked from time. You can't go to Beth's and not be in a good mood. The eccentric wait staff just makes you laugh. The jukebox music sets the mood. You could spend hours examining the customer-drawn cartoons on the walls. Contrary to reputation they even offer delicious, moderately low fat and responsible options. But if they have one downside it's that the outrageously awful for you side of the menu is so ohmygosh delicious that it takes amazing self control to walk out of there having eaten less than 1500-2000 calories. Everything's good there. But I do give a special nod to the milkshakes. They're everything a diner shake should be. And did I mention it never closes? Everyone should go there. They should just try to limit themselves to going on special occasions when they can handle a dietary bomb.

Ultimate greasy spoon. Lots of food for cheap. The hashbrowns are soppy due to the massive quantities of grease.

All I can say is I Love this place!

I have only fond memories of Beth's--eating bottomless hash at 2 am, drinking coffee with friends after a show, inspecting the art on the walls. It was an intregal part of my early 20's...you must try it!
