I think Wild Ginger was inventive once upon a time, but with so many Asian fusion restaurants in Seattle now it doesn't stand out from the crowd.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad restaurant by any means. In fact, it is a perfect business lunch location. The problem is that it keeps getting rated as one of Seattle's top restaurants when there are more authentic Thai places in town.
I'd recommend trying someplace like Typhoon! or even lil' ole' Mae Phim's down on First for some interesting Thai food.
Went there with a reservation and still waited 25 minutes. The waiter was rushed and too tired to do a good job. Food was so so, and that was my 5th visit. Poplular in my judgment simply due to location.
This is my favorite resturant in Seattle. After attending chef school my self there aren't many places that I love.
(because chefs can be very picky)
I am also a Vegetarian.
Wild Ginger is the best. One night my husband and I were there, and I had forgot my reading glasses to read the menu. The head waiter offered his for me.
This is just one incident. They are truely wonderful there.
