Ivar's Original Acres of Clams has been a Seattle tradition since 1938. The city's colorful waterfront at Pier 54 provides a scenic backdrop for this attractive yet informal restaurant where, as ferryboats glide by the window, you'll dine on Ivar's traditional favorites and other delicious Northwest seafood from our daily fresh sheet. The main menu also features fresh steamed clams, salmon, Dungeness crab salad, halibut, Ivar's famous fish 'n chips, Puget Sound clam chowder and much more. I love the view of the restaurant. Good location where you can walk around and enjoy the view before your meal Food is good. The wait can be long.

I Miss Ivars!!!

We've moved to Arizona from Seattle. Ivars' excellent seafood is definately what I miss the most! There is nothing, and I mean nothing, like sitting on the waterfront eating seafood and feeding the seagulls. Whaaa!

If you're visiting Seattle or nearby Tacoma, stop by Ivar's Restaurant at Pier 54. This place has been around since 1938 and an Emerald City favorite. The seafood is fantastic - fresh salmon, clams and dungeness crab and they have a lot to choose from on their menu. The clam chowder is the best, you gotta try it! It's also located right on the waterfront. A great view, with great food - you can't miss with this one. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!

The best fish in town

Ivars is the best place to eat outdoors you have the smell of the ocean, the seagulls flying about catching french fries in flight. No other place can compare to this experience. The food is out of this world. Fast service. The best clam chowder ever made. If you ever visit Seattle this is a must stop.

1st Place we go!

As soon as we get off the plane at SEATAC, we check into our hotel, and head for Ivars! Great view, better food! Halloween is always fun there. You can't go there w/out having a big huge bowl of Clam Chowder - its unamerican! I love getting left over rolls (if there are any) and taking them outside to feed the gulls! They keep everyone entertained while we eat. The view of the ferry's coming in is exciting. If the dinner prices are too steep for some, lunch is very reasonable.

It's my family's favorite place to eat

I like the fact that it's right on the water front. You can look out side at the ocean and watch all the boats go by.The food is excellent and there is alot to choose from if you are fond of seafood. I've been going to ivars with my family since I was a small girl. It is located on the pier in the mist of downtown.

one of my favorite places to eat in Seattle

This is my favorite place to eat when I go to Seattle. they have started to carry their clam chowder in our local Sam's and it is a must buy. Definitely check this place out.

Superb!

Excellent food. The New England Clam chowder is the best. Especially served up in a fresh sourdough breadbowl. Inside the resturant is really nice, they also have outdoor, cafeteria style seating. Don't forget to save some fries for the gulls!

A must stop when we travel to Seattle.

When ever we pass through or go for a weekend getaway the highlight of our trip is a visit to Ivar's. To grab a bowl of chower, a piece of fish and sit out on the dock enjoying lunch and watching the ships come and go is very relaxing and fun.
