Nothing matches sitting outside with the original Ivar's fish and chips. The service may have gotten more organized and the name more commericalized, but the food is still excellent and the seagulls still love the fries!

Although located in tourist trap central, the happy hour oysters and others on the bar menu are worth checking out -- be patient though, as service slides as it gets busy.

Outdoor window serves all but about three nights a year until midnight. Great place to grab some chowder if you've arrived in town too late for other restaurants. Usually full of tourists, but has been a family favorite for generations.

The only way to get some of the seafood on their menu any fresher would be to drop a line out one of the expansive windows onto Seattle Harbor and catch it yourself. There are, however, some items that are not local nor fresh, so be sure to ask your server which is which. Add a bloody mary to your dining and you have the prototype for a seafood experience- and a good one at that!

An institution - we go every time we're in town, dating back to the 1970's on our honeymoon. Save the fries for the seagulls

The original Ivar's on Elliot Bay. There is a full service restaurant or walk up counter. The Fried clams and clam chowder are excellent.
