The Metropolitan Grill, Seattle

If you are paying for quantity this is the place to go. There was more food than we could humanly consume. However, I cant say anything about the quality - I would think a $60 steak would taste a little better than Outback - not the case. The steak tasted like cheap meat and was about as tender as an old sneaker. I would say between the quantity and the quality it would be on par with The Old Country Buffet. I could also say the same for the clientelle. If you are looking to have an upscale dining experience in your gym shorts and wife beaters, this is the place to go. There are too many other restaurants to eat at to waste your money and time (we waited almost an hour past our reservation to be seated) here.

Man, we had the best service when we last went to the Met..celebrated New Year's there. Wonderful food, although I ordered the blue cheese on my steak and it was a bit too much...but, that's because other friend's suggested it. We are going back in a couple weeks. Great place to take out of town guests.

The Met is simply delicious. The valet, hostesses, waiter and Maître d' were polite and very welcoming. The food and service were excellent. For appetizers we had calamari. For my dinner I had the Prime Delmonico which was amazing, along with creamed spinach and to die for garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert I had the chocolate lava flourless cake, sin on a plate. It was a relaxing dinner. I was treating my aunt to dinner and we ate and conversed at a leisurely pace. The only draw back to our dinner was the noise level at the restaurant and the fact the valet closes at 10 p.m. They made my two favorite drinks perfectly: my kir royale with dinner and my cappuccino with my dessert. If you love wine, they have an extensive and impressive wine list. While the met is expensive it's worth every penny. The food and service is exceptional and I can't wait to go back again! Simply delicious!

Appetizers are great, the meat excellent, wines are cool!

First of all the steak was fantastic. That is where the good ends though. We had reservations at 8:30pm, but weren't seated until 9:30. We didn't get our food until 10:10 (we had a babysitter to get back to by 11:00pm so were rushed eating.) No apologies or explanations on the delay of seating and service. No letting us know they appreciated our patience, no acknowledgment of a problem. Hostess was the rudest thing there. I overheard a server say they overbooked. Although steak was great, go to El Goucho instead. Didn't have time for appetizers or dessert. I won't go there again, unless it is a 5:00pm reservation very early.

This place is great. From the time you walk in the door to the time you walk out. The only thing I could complain about is the expensive prices it has. Although it is one of the top 5 steak houses in America so I guess it has some right to be expensive. Steak is great and I would highly recommend the french onion soup or the spinich salad as an appitizer and bananas foster for desert. This place is great for couples, bar, familys and partys.(if you are willing to pay) I would give this resteraunt a A overall.

I love the Met! I have been on several occasions over the last 25 years. Always outstanding service and the food is unbeatable, especially the steaks. It is pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.
