Nells-n-Out is sort of a La Grande institution. Its a small hut on a main thoroughfare, can have lines of cars going out onto the street and often does take a bit of time to get your food. With those issues being said, one has to remember that each burger, each drink or shake (of which there are many to choose from) are all prepared when ordered and not coming out from under a heat lamp.
My biggest complaint comes from the drinks/shakes menu: What are the ingredients? They are many weird names, of which I can't recall at this moment, but nowhere does it tell you whats in them. And asking would be bad, for it could take an hour to ge the details.
The food itself is not bad, tastes a lot like Checkers/Rallys, but a much more extensive menu: Try some of the deep fried fare (my personal favorites are the samplers).
PROS: Extensive menu. Food tastes good. Simple fare.
CONS: No drink descriptions. Many deep fried items.
