I've lived along the Oregon Coast for 20 years. Leroy's is a fixture. Not particulary good, not horribly bad.
It is a step below decent diner food and the prices are about 20 percent higher than they should be. Service is hit-or-miss, and food is usually on the greasy side. For pluses, odds are you can probably get a table quickly and be your way.
If you really don't want to find the time to find anywhere else, Leroy's will work for you.
Had breakfast here. Was disappointed that there weren't any seafood breakfast dishes. But our food was good. Had eggs, corned beef hash, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. Good size portions, fair price.
8/28/10 great seafood dinner and pie was had by our family.
We always make a stop at LeRoys and this evening the service was perfect, restaurant was
clean, you can have food from the lunch or dinner menu or light portions. We like the choices
they offer. The seating is all booths and there is no outside eating area but it is a nice place aand we enjoy the food and service.
This is a great lunch stop on the Oregon Coast. The clam chowder is always excellent. My wife and I stop there every time that we are on the coast. We ride motorcycles. The booths are large which is great when you have to toss off a bunch of gear, helmets etc... We were there last Saturday. I had the Shrimp and chips; my wife had the Fish and chips and we split a bowl of clam chowder. Both entrees were great and the fries were crispy. Mmmm.
What a sad dive. And the owner is a real creep, apparently. He was stalking members of the city council in a threatening fashion not long ago over a new tax. Yachats would be much better off if this place just closed, but unknowing (and unfussy) yokels keep pulling in off the highway and somehow keep it going.
Le Roys is not a bad place to stop in for a meal. I like their fish and chips and there is a fried steak item that I also like can't remember the name. It is a coast place. Waitresses are nice but it isn't fancy.
GREAT WAITRESSES, YOU MAY HAVE TO PARK ACROSS THE STREET IF THEY'RE VERY BUSY...MY HUSBAND SWEARS BY THEIR CHICKEN FRIED STEAK SERVED WITH BISCUITS AND GRAVY, MY DAUGHTER PREFERS THEIR CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES...BOTH ARE DELICIOUS HEART- ATTACKS ON A PLATE...MAYBE A SMIDGE PRICEY, BUT FOR OUR LIMITED BREAKFAST RESOURCES ON THIS PART OF THE COAST, FAIRLY DECENT DINING EXPERIENCE OVERALL. SHOULD MENTION WE HAVE ONLY EVER BEEN THERE FOR BREAKFAST...
