This is a great restaurant place to have a meal. They are not just Chinese. They have breakfast (served all day) and even hamburgers. The food is great, the portions are just right for the price. You ll notice most people take some home because it s a good portion. You won t be disappointed. We were hooked after just one meal. Enjoy...
Most of the chinese places are owned by the same people in Coos bay/North bend. Most of the population does not know what chinese food is suppose to taste like. Tai's is TERRIBLE. Most of the food is taken directly from the restaurant supply place in town ~I do NOT go out to eat to have my chow mein taken directly out of a can~. To put this in perspective - I ordered something simple. Egg flour soup. I kid you not, I stood a SPOON up in it. It was like jelly. It had baby corn in it. And carrot. Now, as a chef I understand taking artistic license to a food. But I also understand that when I pay for something ethnic, I should GET something ethnic. Not something that is honestly worse than what mcdonalds would give me. Not trying to be mean, but I have to be honest.
Don't ever go there. All their food are prepared in a few feet a way from the bathroom with wide open door. The pre-fried meat always sit in front of the bathroom unless the food and health inspector came over
The best restuarant I found in the area in my 2 weeks of working there. Food is amazing, have something for everyone from burgers and fries, to kung pao chicken. Most entrees are about $8-10 but I was able to stuff myself and have a whole lunch saved for the next day! Great value, great food, great service!
Tai's is the BEST restaurant I've ever been to. The food is always great as is the service, and you get very generous servings. The owner personally oversee's and works hard to make sure everyone is being taken care of. Tom & Judy
I've eaten up in Seattle, Bend, and have yet to find a place better than this. I'm addicted their General Tao's Chicken. My 5 yr old daughter even eats hre, and not off the American Menu! Their pork fried rice is the best I've ever eate. They are quick, they are effecient. The owner is nice and very polite. I work at a loca store and I see her in there often, and she is very polite and nice to everyone. They just rock!
As A local and a restaurant cook/chef for 30 years I cannot say enough.Lunch specials of oriental are huge portions for under $5.00 and lots of people have to get boxes to take some home.A favorite for my breakfast and a great dinner spot where you can order family style where huge bowls of steaming food can be passed around just like home for whatever size group you bring.A full american menu satisfies those kids and others who prefer it.I have never talked to anyone local or otherwise who doesn't go back often.I do myself.
My husband and I have been eating here since it opened. My only complaint then was the amount of space they had. It was very tiny and at times you had to wait outside before getting a seat.
They have now opened in their new location and its great. They not only serve chinese food but also a complete menu with breakfast lunch and dinner.
The service has always been great and the portion of food is awesome! We never leave hungry. We usually leave with a doggie bag :0) If you get out and about give it a try!!
