A few time I have been here and have received excellent service. The food is excellent.
However, the last time I went here, the waitress was extremely rude and stressed out. She was condescending and acted as if I was bothering her by being a customer. She brought a chocolate malt to the table with one-third of the malt on the outside of the glass. She took forever to bring the check after we were done eating, and never came to collect payment for the check, which all the other waitresses have done whenever I had been there before. It was impossible for her to crack a smile, and she never said thank you. The place was at least three times as busy on days when I had other waitresses who were very nice. The manager was very unreceptive and rude when I called to complain about the rude treatment given to me by the waitress. He was very contemptuous and acted as if he was being bothered having to take a phone call from a customer.
There are other good places to eat in the area with much nicer service, and Crazy Norweigian's can easily be avoided. The food does not taste as good with bad service and uncaring management.
This place is definitely popular. However, we found on our trip here that you have a 50/50 chance of receiving service with a smile or service with a growl. The waitresses are polar opposites. One is fantastic and is very nice and the other seems as if she is very stressed out. The food was alright may be the best Port Orford has to offer. Would go there again if I am ever in Port Orford (highly doubt I will return).
While traveling last, the summer of 2008, we were getting hungry and needed a break so stopped to check it out. It was small and my husband thought there are sure a lot of people working for such a small place. We found out why a few minutes later. The food was great. It was the best fish and chips we have had an just about any place we have stopped. You get a lot to eat and the fish was fresh. We will surely make a point of going back there to eat. We could remember the name of the restaurant but not the town so my husband had to google the name to tell a friend where to stop. A big thumbs up from the Chandler's from Atwater, CA
My father lives in this town so I have had many occasions to eat here over the past 15 years. Besides the best fresh fish, they make an incredible burger. I definately think it is time for them to expand. The place is PACKED on the weekends.
It all started as a far fetched dream; to pursue our passion for good, satisfying food and our love for
serving people by opening our own restaurant. Beginning with our age old family recipes, all the way to the ...
