Sada's Sushi Bar, Newport

Some of the best food I've ever eaten has been at Sada's. I'm very pleased with the new management. They are very creative. The Chef's dinners are amazing. Presentation is always fabulous. Flavors are to die for. Food is fresh, well made and delicious. I highly recommend thus restaurant.

I'm speaking as a Filipino who loves Sushi. Sada's is the best place I've had sushi so far. To those ex-employees or would-be ex-employees that are sour-graping and would want to put the credibility of the restaurant and the present management, you are nothing but CRABS! You have that mentality of pulling down people when they are on top! To that someone who posted something against the Filipino manager, you don't know what you are talking about, You can't even write straight english! I'm a Filipina, born, raised, and educated in the Philippines .. but I'm good, if not fluent in the English language. So don't undermine the Filipino capability. I know you were asked by that big liar to post a degrading review against Sada's new management. The big liar, herself, posted something in Tripadvisor. That is RACISM at it's pinnacle! Too bad .... I have known US as a fair country where everyone is given equal opportunity ,,, but to you both ... you are proving otherwise. Are you born Americans yourselves?

Very happy to be able to disregard previous recent posts regarding Sada's. The food today was excellent! Sada has not sold the restaurant. The sushi sous chefs are the same that have been assisting Sada for many years. Sada is opening another restaurant in Corvallis so is not in Newport as often. We were very satisfied with everything that we had today and we are very picky about our sushi. Sada and his sous chefs remain the king of sushi!!

I make it a habit of going to Sada's every time I'm in Newport. I was there last week for lunch and was very disappointed because the food was very good but I happened to be facing the sushi bar when the sushi maker (appears to be Sada himself) was fingering and cleaning his nose a couple of times with his bare hands. By the time I finished eating he was still there making more sushi and obviously didn't wash his hands. It sort of nauseated me. It's a shame a cloud was cast on the place because they know how to make good sushi.

we eat at sada's everytime were in newport ...as a chef myself i can usually find some fault in any place ... not so with sada's ..the food is always excellent , the wait staff is just the best ever :) never had anything that wasnt great !! the salad dressing is wonderful ! the sushi is always fresh .... an all around perfect experience !

This place is nice place to eat. It's a little cafeteria style for me. I wish it was a little more elegant inside. The food is good for the price. Never go on a Saturday night it will take forever. Fridays are good though. Expect to wait awhile for your food and wear a jacket it's cold inside.

If you are looking for the best sushi in Oregon, this is it! We came on a busy Saturday evening, the service was prompt and attentive despite the full crowd. Took full advantage of the rolls listed on the special board, as well as suggestions from the competent server. Highlights included oysters on the half shell that were amazingly fresh and served warm from a most delectable broth that intermingled beautifully with the juices from the mollusk; the lobster tempura roll combined delicious flavors with a wonderfully crunchy outside; the perfect compact execution of the classic kiska, and the tender octopus atop the dragon skin roll. The chef is a master at sauces, the flavors are complex yet never overpower the delicate flavors of the fresh seafood. Most of the rolls did not need any extra soy sauce. Fine sushi like this is an artistic as well as culinary experience. If the restaurant is busy, enjoy some sake, and let your anticipation build. It will be worth every bite!

I enjoy sitting under the hi-rise glass dome. Sushi and other dishes are good size and nice presentation. Sushi is not over riced. Look at the daily specials before ordering. I had the Aji nigiri yesterday. MMMMM. Wait staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Try & Enjoy.

I first met Sada when he worked at Yuzen in Seal Rock. He is a true genius with suishi. I unfortunately moved away from Newport but was overjoyed when my in-laws retired to Newport. My joy was increased to find that he had opened his own Sushi Bar. What a wonderful place for his creativity to thrive! Even though we live in the Portland Metro area we are often in Newport and go every time we visit. We love to try his new rolls that he creates and his dinner specials are wonderful. His salad dressing is supreme and I sometimes try and get the recipe . . . hasn't happened, but I continue to try. His Teppan Yaki Oysters are succulent. There is always a great variety of suishi to choose from and it is always fresh and high quality. I have eaten suishi in many areas of the U.S. and I still come back to Sada's to enjoy the very best prepared by the best.
