I love this local mongolian place - they have a wide variety of sauces, and charts telling you which ones to use for mild, medium, hot, etc. The meats are not frozen chunks, and they refill their vegetables frequently. The only real drawback is that it's in a warehouse type building in a small space, and the grill smokes sometimes due to possibly poor ventilation. This isn't usually an issue tho and the people who work there are very nice and accommodating. Excellent place.. much better than Chang's - I wasn't impressed with that restaurant at all. Worth a stop in!
This place...its like making up your own nuddle dish without having to pick out the things you dont like because Here you choose your own Meats,Veggies, How much noodles you want, Sauces(has a chart to show you what sauces to use to make ur noodles mild, meduim, or hot) so after your done picking out what you want your dish to be then you take it up to the counter and watch them cook it right infront of you and if that isnt enough you can get rice and these thin tortuia things called Wraps and basically you can put some of your food in this wrap then fold it and it would be like a chinese burrito....Its a Restuarant for all ages, Great for family get togethers or if your with a big group of poeple!!!
Ate there tonight and it was excellent. Great selection of ingrediants and an awesome selection of sauces. They also have some very hot sauces that i haven't seen at all Mongolian Grills before (very good). And all you can eat for about $11 is a great deal!
This place is far better then any other mongolian grill I've been too. The main reason is because they are the only place I've been to that has a bunch of different spices you can put on your food. I'm picky and only like a few veggies with my tofu so the spices really add to the flavor. The sauces do too but the spice gives it that extra kick. The food is always cooked a little differently but always tastes great! One thing that is slightly annoying is that just about every time you will get a bit of someone elses food on your plate since they cook several dishes at a time. Not a big deal usually unless you are allergic to something. Or if you accidentally eat something you hate. It is too bad that you cant take a to go box. I can kind of understand but I think for the cost, you should be able to. So really only worth the money if you go on a really empty stomach!
Far and away the best eatery of it's type in the greater northwest area. Chang's is a far cry from the Riverview! I have tried mongolian type grills in many different places and none hold a candle to this chain which has locations in Albany, Corvallis and Klamath Falls OR. Very few places that charge these prices actually give you value for money, but The Riverview does indeed. Top notch ingredients and sauces make all the difference. A flat grill works so much better than the sloped grills of Changs, where you see your watered down sauces run off the grill before imparting their timid taste to the less than stellar ingredients. Hazzah to Riverview Mongolian Grill! Long may you prosper.
I went there after all the reviews. To be honest. I think this is an ok mongolian grill buffet.
For the price of $12.95. I think that the grilling is alright. But, the selections r pretty poor for that price. Only one type of noodle. I went there on Sunday evening. The freshness is ok... I would say not my typical fresh. especially for the mini shrimps, been there (thawed for some period of time). The pork looks.. kinda old, slightly gray, not bright fresh orange.
But the people eating there seems to like it a lot. A guy in the line, even told me convincingly that the food is very great & I just complied and laugh with him making some happy time conv. And I could see there are many locals and some seems to be repeating customers, based on the friendliness of the waiters.
Maybe it is just Corvallis. I think there are no competition there. And ppl just dont know there exist grills that serve better meals for that price.
(Lived in Portland & Seattle for some time.)
This place will really get you full. If you eat like a bird maybe not the place for you. If you eat like a hungry beast, this is the place for you. I get full every time I'm there. You get to watch the cooks cook your food right in front of you. You get to pick out what you're going to eat and with what. You just hand it to the cook when your done and watch them cok it and they give it back and eat to your hearts content. Oh yea, this is good. The one in Corvallis is a little better than one in Albany I think. I know I went there sometime this year but not sure when exactly.
I have been to this restraunt several times for lunchs. It is very different from your average restraunt in a good way. You get a bowl and go through a buffet of raw veggies and meat. you put as much of anything in that bowl as you want and then add a variety of sauces (Sezchan, Oyster, Black Butte Porter, Red Wine, Seasme Oil, etc., etc.) then you hand it off to a grillman who cooks it for you while you wait. Nine times out of ten that bowl holds alot more than you realize and you can't possibly eat it all, resulting in realization of the one downside; you can't get a to go box unless you get it to go in the first place. All in all a wonderful restruant especially if you want something good for groups and food that is a little or a lot exotic
