Pambiche

Description

Named after the Latin American form of dance, Pambiche offers eclectic Cuban and Creole flavors. Ajiaco, Creole chicken, jumbo Gulf prawns in wine sauce, braised oxtails, and the ubiquitous flan are definitely worth your attention. Sangria and wines flow freely, though the Cuban espresso is equally potent in its own way. And if you find yourself an alien among the Spanish-speaking folk, order from the succulent takeout menu. Prices are satisfactory much to your glee.

This is one of my favorites in town!! Haven't had one thing there that I haven't liked - the picadillo empanadas are amazing!

What a huge disappointment! After waiting outside in the colf for nearly 40 minutes my party finally took our seats an the scant 300 square foot dining area. The waiting staff was friendly but the service was poor. They attempted to make suggestions and talk of the food, none of which seemed to help. When the food arrived it was bland and some was even luke warm to cold. Had there been some type of Cuban music in the background, I could have imagined myself as an adult living amongst Castro's communist society as I picked around at my rather bland and uninspiring Arroz Compllo. Overall this place was way over rated and way over priced. For a group of four, the final tab was nearly $120.00., which wouldn't have been a big deal if the food and service was much better than what it was. I think once is enough for me at Pambiche and I'll try Cuban food the next time I get to Miami. Give it up Portland!

Went there yesterday for lunch, WOW! such a little restaurant with HUGE pleasantries! My husband and I were very impressed. The food was fabulous and so was the service. The staff was extremely friendly and the housemade Sangria was delicious! I have all ready recommended it to all my friends. Definately a must go to for great food.

Fantastic Cuban Hideaway
By ,
Pambiche is an absolutely wonderful tiny cuban cafe with really nice wait staff and fantastic food! Very cozy and can be hard to get a seat inside, but has heated outdoor seating and totally worth it! Breakfast served til 2PM during the weekend!

My countless trips to Pambiche

This little place serves up big when it comes to flavor, portion, value, ambience, true-to-the-heart ethnic dishes, and the most beautiful pastry case your eyes can possibly take in. A great restaurant choice for celebrating with family, with a bunch of good friends, or for date-night...though go early, or else be willing to wait in line. Your wait will be well rewared! Can we spell Y-U-M, people?

The best of both worlds!
By ,
Combining the best of latin-creole cuisine and American fare, Pambiche provides the ambience of a upscale cuban cafe. You'll get the basics from rice and beans to tantilizing chicken and pork dishes. And if you've been really good, treat yourself to the authentic deserts that will make you want to slap your dietician for suggesting such deliciousness is not OK!

All I can say is Yum!! My boyfriend finally took me, even though he's been saying how good it is for 2 years now. First off, don't go if you're half dead from starvation, you will have to wait, always. Which is fine, cause man is this place good. I would recomend starting with a croquette and dowse it with banana ketchup! yes banana ketchup, you will more than likely go and buy a bottle after this. We had fried cow which is lime -a-licious, and a stewed pork dish, which was melt in your mouth fantastic. The red beans and rice was aromatic and down home. The heat, music, smells, laughter all makes you feel like you stepped into another world. Don't forget desert, take half your dinner home (most things heat up well) and have a domino cake, mmmmm, cake. So much on the menu you will go crazy. Happy dining!
