I used to live and work in the Cedar Mill area so have been here many times. Love it, love the atmosphere. My mom and step dad and aunt and uncle used to drive all the way from Tigard to go here. I love the Almond Chicken Sub Gum Chow Mein. Last time I went i sat in the bar to eat, the time before that I sat by a mom and son who were have a heated discussion about his behaviour which I felt they should have left at home but Oh Well!, and he was using the f-word and putting his feet on the booth seat.
Like most smaller market cities, Portland reviewers give too many high marks to too many restaurants. Whoa! This one is no exception. When I used to drink I hung out in this place sometimes, and it has nice strong drinks in a sleazy suburban wasteland bar. The food is average. This type of food can be found in hundreds of places. I think Astoria has 3 just like Wan Q. There are much better places inthe city. Don't bother going all the way to Cedar Mill for this. The other reviewers are just plain wrong. Trust me. PS: Note the spelling in Halcyon's review...you dig? Nuff said.
My great boss at Cedarmill Lumber,Kenny Anderson, would take his crew out for a nice lunch at Wan Q every year.I had some really great Chinese for a few years and tried a wonderful filet mignon one year. The food is great. The ambiance is comfy/cozy/comfortable.Good cocktails too.Have been dieing to goback and sample some more.
