In a sea of Thai restaurants, this one stands out from the rest. Traditional fare is the specialty here, focusing on flavorful curries and a symphony of seafood. The restaurant is actually a part of a family dynasty. The owner's mother and sister own their own eateries in town. Close to downtown , this Northeast Portland location is a bit hipper than the others. Try the Green Papaya Salad, shredded papaya mixed with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, peanuts and Thai chilies and served with sweet, sticky rice. Only cash payments are accepted.
Truly the best Thai food in Portland. Everything is made from scratch (so can't order 'add ons' or extras in the middle of dinner, just won't happen). Quirky hours, but if you want the best, fresh / homemade, and unique - it's worth every effort.
