Raccoon Lodge & Brew Pub
High beams, wood tones and lots of stairs contribute to a genuine lodge feel at this pub. Although on the pricey side for pub fare, the food is plentiful. You will have a hard time finishing a basic hamburger. Check out the different varieties of French fries and scrumptious desserts guaranteed to get your mouth watering. A seasonal grill and beer garden are located outdoors. Stop in for happy hour and Tightwad Tuesday food and drink specials. If you don't mind the smoke, check out the "den," where smoking is allowed and lottery games and billiards are available. The Raccoon Den also features Big Screens & Video Poker.
The food is OK, the only reason I go there is for the battered fries they rock! I once complained that I could smell the urinal cake everywhere in the restaurant and by the next time I went they fixed that issue. I seem to be going less and less frequently, I am getting my fry fix elsewhere
Terribly rude treatment by manager after my daughter found 2 hairs in her food. He did not offer to take the charge off our bill. They ran out of stout at 5 p.m. on a Friday. E-mail to owner showed where the problem was - he was unapologetic - and this guy is supposed to be a big wheel on the local beer scene. Don't ruin your celebration dinner - go some where else. Used to frequent this place all the time when I first moved to Portland. Great bartender, can't remember his name, but he has been there forever. Wish they brought back the peanut butter pie....it was amazing. Oh yeah, they have good beer as well!
