Riyadh's Lebanese Restaurant, Portland

I really want to dislike this place, but I cannot. This idiot friend of mine who is completely paranoid insists that they hate him and like me. I agree. He deserves to be hated. The food is consistant and served quickly. The help can be friendly (to cool people like me) or indifferent (to the idiot I go there with sometimes). I have tried most menu items, and I have been to most Middle Eastern/Med places. This is one of the better ones

I went for lunch and had the Lamb Kabobs, Hummus, Turkish coffee, and Baklava for dessert. Good food and prices, on the lunch menu ran $5.00-$13.50 for the entrees. I payed about $14.00 for my entire meal and had left overs. Only one waitress to handle the half full resturant she did a great job, she was quick and courteous. You don't receive your check at the table you must go to the counter to receive and pay. A little strange, but the waitress had them all lined up and ready to go.

What with so many Lebanese restaurants in this town, it's hard to pick which one to eat at. Not so if you live near lower Hawthorne and are too lazy to cook! I've been going to this place off and on for years and have never been disappointed. It's a cozy restaurant that's a great place to take a date out on; the service is always very friendly and helpful, and the food delicious and at a great price.

Try Riyadh's for a healthier, quick alternative. Great food, good service -- you'll leave feeling great.
