Where else can you go to see bardic legend Heather Alexander and get a good brew as well. While this pub caters to all groups at least once a month you can go get a feel of old Ireland and run with Bravehart. Huzzah!
IMHO, it's a good variety of things, from soups to chili, bento, various sandwiches & veggie selections or you can build your own. Ambience is a '5' because if you need to hang out & relax and not worry about if your jeans are dirty or shoes scuffed, if you've been working in the yard all day fine, no problem.
And the beer is great - their own brews are excellent, they have cask brews & 'visitors'.
So, for being a chilled out brewpub where you can eat good solid pub food, freshly made and of good variety (esp for vegetarians), four stars. If I were to rate the food against, say Fife, well, of course, different ball game entirely.
The sad part of the Lucky Lab's pubs is their lack of a menu. The SE location is sandwiches and the SW location is pizza. Thats it. They do have outdoor seating and, of course, dog friendly.
The beer is good
but thats it...
