The entire experience sucked. I drove around the undersized parking garage three times before I found a place to park. Rode up in a elevator that wreaked of cigarettes and cheap cologne. Only to wait 20 minutes passed my reservation to sit on basically a bench in the middle of the room because you cant reserve a window table. What's the point of going up there to sit in the middle of the room. The food was mediocre at best. I had stuffed Halibut, which I had done better at Red Lobster recently for less than half the price. It was so loud in there it was virtually impossible to carry on a conversatio with my wife directly across from me. They then failed to validate my parking ticket (even though I gave it to my waiter and he brought it back to me) It was supposed to have been stamped. I did not know this so when I tried to leave they charged me $6 for parking or I was going to have to re-park and go back up and have it stamped. I'll never go there again. What a waste of a good Saturday night.

This place is a joke, a laughable example of the lengths people will go to when they think that they can buy class. We had a salad come to us (for 8.50) that was nothing more than long whole leaves of lettuce torn off and placed on top of each other. Slivers of cheese and stale slices of bread as "croutons" WTF is this supposed to be a salad hobby kit or something? Take this crap back and finish the job. Anyone that has worked food service (especially finer dining) knows that the menu is an illusion to make you think that someone other than a chain smoking manic depressive is dripping beads of nicotine sweat into your cheap Aramark food ingredients. Still, the joke is on me, walking out fifty bucks poorer and nothing to show for it. I'd have been better off across the street for a burrito at Mary's Club.

Tried to make a small group reservation 2+ weeks in advance, and the airhead girl that answered the phone was absolutely no help at all. Gave me an attitude that single table groups get priority, as prime time services are limited to quick table turns where big profits and tips can be produced. Apparently City Grill feels profit is more important than service. With other reviews identifying declining food quality and increasing prices, we will go elsewhere!

This is a destination restaurant; you go for the views more than the food. My wife had a braised beef special - it was excellent! I had king crab, which was a little overcooked (dry) - how do you mess up seafood? Service was inattentive; I had to reach over and pour the wine myself. However, the views were spectacular. A guarded recommendation.

This is what happens when a company is bought out by a private equity firm. Their only objective is to make money at any cost! Portland City Grill used to be one of my favorite places in all of Portland, not anymore. Since, being bought out their prices have increased at least 25% (food and drinks don't let the happy hour food fool you.) Folks, this is in the middle of the worst recession since the great depression.

I'm sad to say that it looks like Portland City Grill has taken a turn for the worse. Their prices have gone up substantually and their portion sizes have gotten even smaller. And the Cesar salad I had was horrible-the lettuce was white and had spots of brown and tasted bitter. And I wouldn't call it a salad either-it was just some lettuce with some dressing with two razor thin slices of dried up cheese and two tooth chipping breadcrumbs. This for $8.50? I've had better salads for $1 at McDonald's! The menu selections are very limited and if you order the cheapest entries for 2 people you're out $50 without drinks! The waiter was nice but there were way too many of them just standing around talking loudly and one waitress even smacked a guy's butt! I have always loved going to this restaurant as a treat to myself and my family every few months but now it's time to find a new favorite restaurant.

You come here for the view and for acceptable, but not terrific, food.

A skyscraper always stands out in low-rise Portland; sadly, the food doesn't deliver tastes as spectacular as the views. Recommended by the locals, service is functional but polite, and the food considers itself grander than it is. Simple flavours are los
