A good Hilton in the downtown area. Note that Hilton occupies two non-connected buildings on different streets. Call ahead before checking in. Excellent breakfast at the Executive Towers. Weekend parking is $5 do it yourself and $20 through the hotel.

First Time Visitor

We do a lot of business travel to conferences and stay in Hilton Hotels more than any other. So comparing this Hilton to others: Pros: Comfortable beds, thermostat controlled air, ledge under window runs the width of the room and gives great counter space, plenty of electrical plugs. Cons: Room and bathroom on the small side; sliding bathroom door has opaque glass and does not lock; no microwave or fridge in the room is very inconvenient; tv channels very limited - does not pick up the channels that are normally on basic cable! This is the first Hilton we have stayed in that has these inconveniences.

What to really expect
By ,
I'm not going to complain about this Hotel. I am however going to warn those who are planning to stay about many things you would not expect. My wife and I stayed for one week, so I feel I can give good advice. No refrigerators or microwaves in any of the rooms in either building. No vending machines at all in the newer Tower building on any floor. Everything closes at 10 pm 7 days a week, this includes all restaurants, bars, swimming pool,Jacuzzi etc. If you need Internet access in your room it will cost you 10.00 a day, no WiFi. Parking of any kind will cost you 18.00 a day as well. If you go to use the pool or Jacuzzi, be prepared to leave your divers license or credit card with the attendant at the desk in trade for you locker key. If you buy anything from the hotel such as food, drinks or things for your room, it will cost you three times the normal price. A good example would be a 16 oz Soda will run $2.50. One pay channel with basic cable on older style TV's. Any room service cost 20% extra on top of what you order, as well as a $2.50 service charge. Make sure u have eaten before 10 pm, because you will have no options even in town for something to eat. Very few staff that work here have been here for any length of time, most are new. If you are a smoker, you must stay on the 12th floor in the new Tower building. These rooms also offer no more than any other hotel, but will cost you twice the price. 200.00 a night is the minimum.

A very nice stay
By ,
My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower. We booked online via Hilton's website. We were nicely upgraded to the Executuve Tower, king business room on the top floor (20). We arrived just after 5pm and there was no line and a friendly hotel employee who helped us. Check-in was easy and took about 5 minutes. We went up to our room and thought the room was nice. The room had a king size bed, desk, with fax/copy machine and a 32' tv. We had a nice view of the Pioneer Square area and other buildings nearby. We stayed for two nights. During the two nights we rented a movie, Hitman and also ordered room service twice. The movie was good. Room service was amazing. Fast and good food. The overall presentation of the food delivered was exceptional. The room service staff was also great. The price of room service really wasn't higher than eating at any of the local downtown restaurants. So the pros: Check-in Room location, the size was perfect Room view Room service Overall staff The cons: The TV should be a flat screen at this level of stay. Overall a great stay in downtown Portland!

This is my home away from home in Portland - I really like their breakfast! I checked out at 3:30 AM and the valet had my car within minutes - not what I expected!

Great place to stay
By ,
I travel to Portland twice a year minimum and always stay at the Hilton. I always have a great experience; service is great, rooms comfortable and clean. The location is great, right downtown, close to MAX, the streetcar and buslines, you can easily get to both Union Station and the airport. Downtown shopping is close, and hop on the MAX and you'll be in Lloyd Center in less than 10 minutes. If you prefer culture, the concert hall is across the street and the art museum a few blocks away. I think this hotel works both for business and leisure, all year round. I wouldn't be returning year after year if it weren't.

Highly Recommended
By ,
Loved the hotel. Larger than average rooms, very clean, friendly staff, great dining, and last but not least, the best location downtown. My only disppointment was when I asked the doorman about taking a cab the next morning to the airport and he kept recommending the town car service, despite my clear intention of wanting to take a cab. Next morning, I didn't bother asking for a cab, ended up walking around the corner and picked up one there.

Lacking but clean

Lots of extra chages for everything. They charge for internet, anything worth watching on tv. The soda machine gave cans of pop so hot they were hard to hold on too. So bring your extra cash and come spend the night. Oh and eat somewhere else. The food was not cooked completely and was bad in general.
