Al-Amir Restaurant
Description
Lavishly elegant, this restaurant is located in the ornate Bishop's House . The Gothic building, built in Victorian times, is an oddly fitting place for Lebanese dining. In a city with so many Middle Eastern restaurants that you might be hard pressed to visit one more than once, Al-Amir will still keep you coming back. Start your meal with Lebanese beer and lentil soup and end it with baklava. As for what comes in between, try the Dajaj- grilled chicken breast with a lemon-olive oil marinade. A full bar is available. Treat yourself to a round of belly dancing too.
The service was fantastic-far beyond my expectations. Our party ordered a variety of different items just to get and idea of what they had to offer. We were all very happy. The staff were always there catering to our needs willing to provide us whatever we wanted. We will be back again.
The food is worse than mediocre. It is too bad since it is set in such a beautiful building. Everything was too greasy and the flavors were off. Hummus is the only edible thing on the menu. Would not go back there.
