Orenco Station Grill
Orenco Station in Hillsboro, Oregon, just outside of Portland proper, is a great development for the folks in the neighborhood. Orenco Station Grill could be considered the local watering hole. Serving a great selection of American fare--from steak and potatoes to prawns and crab cakes--this restaurant certainly represents what the coast has to offer. A majority of menu features items from the sea. Try the salmon or the mahi mahi from the grill if you're looking for something healthy and wonderful. Be sure to tip the waitresses and visit the bar after a meal for great adult beverages.
visited on 4/9, and the only thing pleasant was the host.
Other than that, a complete disappointment. The service was the worst I've experienced in ages. I've been ignored by the best, and this gal was a pro. Without a visit or any explanation, and after 40 minutes of sitting, I asked where our food was, and what a coincidence, it had just appearing from the kitchen !
And, some little kid was constantly making his way around the building, (@ 9PM) seemingly unsupervised, until someone came and retrieved him, which started it all over again.
There were other choices at the nearby mall that would have been better at half the cost.
Obviously, not one reason to recommend you spend your time or money here
WE went to this horrid place last night. It appears to be a nice restaurant because of the beautiful decor. However, the service is slow and unattentive. We ordered Mahi Mahi, a steak, and salmon. The MAHI MAHI was way raw in the middle and had blood dripping out of it and was drenched in lemon sauce. The steak was pale and rubbery. The salmon was greasy and overcooked. Our salads were pathetic served on plates the size of a coffee saucer not to mention the lettuce was iceberg and brown on the sides. A couple of my lettuce leaves were rotten. That was grocery store salad in a bag I guess????
The only good thing was the champagne and the warm sourdough bread they brought.
Our total came to $130 (so food was about $85-90) but that was way too expensive for poor quality food and service.
The napkins were paper and the butter and salad dressing were in plastic cups. That is soooo classless for a restaurant with $20+ entrees. Even Stanford's has cloth napkins and have glassware for sauces and salad dressings.
We will never go back to Orenco Grill. It was downright gross.
In a word, lousy. My scallops were far overcooked, rubber-like in texture, and tasteless. My son's steak was like shoe leather. Given the high price, we were especially irritated at the poor quality of the food. We would have been better off going to McDonalds.
If you like a nice dry martini to go with a well prepared entree, this is a great place. Nice wine list, and the prices are not too steap. Normal steak house pricing for most entrees cooking it correctly. Drinks were fairly stiff, and the staff was wonderful. Smallish dining area, so peaks times can get a little crowded some nights.
