Syun Japanese Restaurant, Hillsboro

I eat at Syun with friends from the glass factory every week. Best lunch available probably anywhere! Syun has a very small kitchen so be patient. I had the chance to have dinner a couple weeks ago-do not miss the clams cooked in saki-Wow is all I can say! Nice people and a great place to eat.

My wife and I discovered this great place with friends from California in the 90's. We have moved several times to cities such as Atlanta, Petaluma, Lake Forest, Cotati California and sought a good Japanese resturant we have searched for a replacement. Non such. We enjoy coming back to great food, service and friendly people right there in Hillsboro. CRF

A Special Place I have eaten there many times and have always recieved excellent food and excellent service. They have a diverse menu with many very interesting choices. Sometimes I have had trouble understanding the server due to accent, but the attitude has always been right. They have always been concerned with my satisfaction. This place is quite popular and I highly recommend it

My husband and I ate here and had a great time. Our waitress did a very good job of explaining the dishes and even took the time to help us choose a sake to try. The food was delicious and the ambiance was great. Even better was the fact they took reservations. When we arrived we were promptly seated. We both really enjoyed ourselves. Something neat was we discovered was that you could buy an entire bottle of sake and they will store it for you for a set amount of time. Anytime you come to eat, they will get your bottle for you. Overall, a great experience and it's awesome they're located right in our little downtown Hillsboro!!

DO NOT RISK EATING HERE. I ordered soft shell crab roll and it was ROTTEN. The waiter told the chef and he agreed that the fish was indeed BAD. They did not offer to pick up the $20 tab or compensate us in any way and we had eaten there MANY times before. I had to spit this bad fish out and almost threw up in my mouth from it. I totally lost my appetite and will never return. I understand once in a while a piece of fish may be bad but they did NOTHING to make things right. FFFFFFF

It is the real deal with great sushi. The best combination of appetizers and sushi. Best sushi in the area, bar none!!!!

I have been there probebly a dozen times and each time I am happy. The staff is friendly and quick. The fish is a great quality and fresh. I would suggest it to anyone who wants a nice sushi expierience

I love this place for the friendly atmosphere and amazing sushi. I can always count on at least on interesting item I've not tried before, whether it be queen crab, sea robin, or a type of shellfish I'd only heard of. Everything is done well and the staff are incredibly friendly.
