Applebee's, Lake Oswego

We just left Applebees in Lake Oswego, OR, and we have had a rotten experience. We were a large group of friends going out to eat with kids (10 adults 15 kids) and we knew to expect some delays and minor problems because of the group size. We were there for 3 full hours- it took way too long. Many problems with the order accuracy and incompetence on the servers. We cannot recommend Applebee's unless you are 2 people with the patience of Job.

Chemicals in the food and drinks! Terrible management! The first bad experience I had was when my drink tasted like it had chemicals in it-not just bad or off-Chemicals. My wife agreed and when I brought it to the attention of the manager he just said it tasted fine to him all day and he has had no complaints. :O He regretfully replaced it but by that point I decided I'd rather not risk being poisoned and we left. About six months later we both went to the same Applebee's to give it another try. I ordered steak and mashed potatoes, wife ordered chicken penne but we usually share everything so she tried my potatoes first. She gagged and said they were off. I tried them and they tasted exactly like a urinal cake from the men's bathroom (I know how those smell-never actually ate one). I dont usually return food/drinks but when it comes to chemical tastes I report it to the manager right away so it can be removed from service. I asked the waiter for the manager and when he asked why I told him. My wife and I were shocked when he said others were complaining about it today as well. :O !! So they knowingly serve my wife and I food that had already been reported to taste bad?! Asked for the manager and guess who? Same manager as my first bad experience who confirmed he knew about the complaints and only NOW is willing to stop serving them. Until management changes we will never return to the Lake Oswego Applebee's which sucks because I am right around the corner and I LOVE Applebee's.

Can't remember the last time I had food as bad as this. Fish and chips and a threesome platter of wings, slider, and a wrap. Preprepped, not fresh, overcooked, bad tasting assemblyline institutional at best even though I've had better in hospital cafeterias. Didn't finish what was put in front of us. Simply put, why would anyone pay for this when so many comparably priced happy hours of much higher quality are available in the immediate area? We ran to the nearest dessert we could find elsewhere to extinguish the taste.
