China Bay Restaurant, Beaverton

My wife and I found this wonderful place back in April and come at least once a month. Try different things almost every time, but have not found anything we don't like yet. Great food and great service. Go there and enjoy.

So I took my kids there for dinner on Tuesday and paid with my debt card. They charged my card twice. When I contacted them they told me they stated the second charge would be reversed and placed back into my account. Not only have they not reversed the 2nd charge but they than charged me for a 3rd time and now this has caused my account to become over drawn. So not only have I ended up paying over $100 for dinner for 3 people but I have over draft fees. The food was good but not worth what they have cost me to date. My advice Don't go there and if you do Make sure you have CASH!

I have been eating here since 2004. The restaurant is beautiful, with a giant mural of the great wall of china. It is so lifelike and fantastic it is worth going to China Bay Restaurant just to see the artwork. But wait! Their food is awesome. My husband and I love to go there for lunch. And their lunch specials (under $6/person) is even honored weekends, why not go after church on Sunday? The lunch prices are good up to 2 pm. The lunch meal is so much you probably will take some home to reheat later (reheats great) and it includes a main item like sweet n' sour chicken or brocoli beef (love both of these, that is why I mentioned it, but you have LOTS of choices) and you get a bowl of delicious egg flower soup (or choose hot spicy soup if you like that) and you get rice plus some soft noodles, and a wonton and it is to DIE for with just a little bit of cream cheese and crab meat inside - yummy. The decor in the restaurant is lovely and tables are very nice, with glass tops over tablecloths. Waiters and waitresses are super friendly. The owner is on site and it is very common for him to come by and ask how everything is. There is chinese food and there is China Bay. Once you eat here, you'll be hooked. The prices are low. Like I said, lunch is under $6 including soup. Soft drinks are extra, about $1.75, but if you are on a tight budget just ask for hot tea. It is free. And their hot tea is awesome. I like to take a lemon wedge out of my ice water and put it in the hot tea, add a little sugar, mmm, delicious. I did want to mention you can also get takeout even at the lunch prices but you don't get soup with it. (Prices are higher in the evening, but portions are bigger for the dinners too). If you are on a short lunch hour, call ahead and they'll have it ready real fast. It is so good, I want others to know about his superb restaurant. It is a real gem. We love eating at this restaurant. The food is delicious, they have the best chow mein and szechuan in the area. The staff is extremely helpful and the owners are really generous. They noticed we were coming in a lot and as an added thank you they gave us some complimentary fried rice on top of our order.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant! Everything I've ever tried is delicious! I go there twice a week and get the same thing (Mandarin Tofu), even though I want to try new things, I just can't go without my usual. Service is good, atmosphere is very comfortable (giant mural on wall, Christmas-lights, plants, comfortable booths and tables). Soooooo good!

The food was good, not exceptional but watch out if you pay with credit cards. My meal was $14.45 and I tipped $2.55 on a credit card, but when it cleared the bank it was a dollar extra $3.55. I will not go back to places that pad my bill.

Great food, great service!! They did our wedding rehearsal dinner 4 years ago, and I won't ever stop going back!!

I have three friends who introduced me to this place -- they all told me that it reminds them of the food they had in Hong Kong; with three people swearing it was the most-authentic Chinese chow in all of Portland, I had to give it a shot. It's reasonable -- classy -- and excellent. There isn't a bad thing on the menu; the service is first-rate and the food is FRESH (something that's always in question with a menu that's complex). Don't let the strip-mall ambiance fool you -- you can expect this to be nothing less than the best Chinese in town - a real jewel on the West Side!!!

Graet food. The poeple are nice too. Check out the Dragon Phoenix meal its a savory great taste..

The food is excellent, very fast and the service is amazing. It's never crowded and we always feel like treasured guests. Whenever we have guests in town China Bay is a must. I'm surprised more people haven't found out about this place and gone cause it is SOOO GOOOD!
