Part of a chain of Japanese-owned Italian restaurants, this airy, glass-fronted casual eatery two blocks away from Ala Moana Shopping Center is popular with the local crowd for its mix-and-match approach to spaghetti and pizza. Toppers include Asian favorites like corn, enoki mushrooms, squid and pickled mustard cabbage, as well as the usual roster of Italian flavor combos. Salads come with a choice of interesting Japanese dressings; a signature dish is the shredded raw potato salad.
My family and I have eaten here a dozen times, easily. Its one of our favorites. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Too bad they took off my favorite pasta from their menu, though (wasabi salmon ikura spaghetti). They have the best creme brulee on the island. So smooth and creamy. A must try place to go.
From the outside you can't tell, but the decor inside is lovely. Contemporary brick walls with tasteful vases; the food is most excellent as well. A little on the pricey side, but I was able to find buy one get one free entree coupons in the local Yellow pages. Great place to bring a date or group of friends as well. It's always crowded on weekends with a waiting time so be prepared for that.
Who woulda thought marrying the two would work?! Well it does. The cream and marinara sauces are so light it is a must try. Personally, I like the garlic oil sauce. And however they prepare those browned onions is awesome. Whatever you do, do not leave without trying the raw potato salad.
Wow, this place is a must-try! My husband and I weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the freindly staff and delicious food. Admittedly, the cuisine is different from the norm, but I would recommend this place to anyone willing to try new things!
