Kobe Japanese Steak House

Description

Knife-wielding chefs put on a dazzling display nightly at this steakhouse at the north end of Waikiki. Steak, chicken, shrimp, lobster and vegetables are prepared on a traditional teppan grill with great theatrical flair. With a sumptuous sushi bar, comfortable lounge area and great location, this restaurant is a treat. Whether or not you're already familiar with Japanese table-side cooking, it's worth a visit. There is another location on Maui in the old whaling town of Lahaina.

Terrible service. Expensive food. A chef even told us they don't serve Kobe beef but CANADIAN beef! They should change the name of the restaurant. We will never go back there.

This had to have been one of the biggest wastes of money EVER!!! The food was way over priced for the portion sizes, $4 extra per person if you want fried rice instead of steamed, and a small sized soda for $3 with no refills, if you want a refill, it is then $2.50. Service was awful, the show left a lot to be desired, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!! We even left smelling like fried food, and my son had an asthma attack because there was no ventilation and all of the smoke came right at us. AWFUL, absolutely awful.

Beware steak lovers. This place is not for you. The portions are so small that when I left, I was still hungry. Overpriced and service was bad as well. Will not come back and dine at this steak house again.

I had the worst dining service experience ever on one weekend evening. The host, who claimed himself as a owner/manager who mistreated me and my friends with unprofessional mannerism and attitude. As a newsletter journalist, I travel all over local restaurants and by far, this was the worst one. We were never served with proper service, no apologies and yet meals wasn't complete. We were told we had to ask for desserts. Food was okay but if service isn't there, it is not a pretty sight. It left us with embarrassment, bitter taste in our food and unsatisfactory service. This will be my first and last dining experience here.

Honestly, it tasted no different than any other hibachi grill I've been to...and I walked out smelling like fried food, too. It isn't bad, though.

Kobe has lost a little of it's appeal over time. It's still one of the better Teppenyaki places in Honolulu but for me it has become a little stale. Perhaps because I have gone there many times and they rarely change their routine and the prices are starting to creap up I don't care for it as much. I used to like it because unlike Tanaka of Tokyo, you can get sushi at Kobe, which is a plus until you find out that the sushi is only so-so. I think Kobe is still worth visiting once but it's no longer one of my favorites, as it used to be.

Worst restraunt in Hawaii
By ,
This was the worst experience i have ever had in a restraunt. When discussing my opinion with the manager, he screamed at the top of his lungs and ran in the back. Bad food, horrible service, do not eat here ever, there are plenty of other fine restraunts on the island.
