Consistently voted, 'Best Neighborhood Chinese Restaurant' by Honolulu Magazine , this place has been a local favorite for 25 years. It is known for its outstanding Szechuan cuisine, reasonable prices and generous portions. The menu features an excellent selection of vegetarian dishes, which can be prepared without chicken stock, and the chef will prepare brown rice on request. (It is best to ask for it ahead of time.) An authentic Mandarin breakfast is served on the weekends. Decorated with tasteful Oriental screens and artwork, the dining area is informal and comfortable.

Great food for almost 30 years

Have been going to Maple Garden since it was first opened. The food has always been excellent and the service friendly. Good Chinese breakfast such as green onion pancake and cold chicken noodles. Best smoked tea duck anywhere.

Great variety and every dish we have ever tried has been delicious, very good service, generous portions, just wonderful, the best! We go here whenever we are in Honolulu and we have never been disappointed.

Great Chinese food!

Every trip we make to Oahu, which is at least twice a year, we head for Maple Garden. The eggplant in garlic sauce and the Schezwan smoked chicken (or duck) are a must. Order the sizzling rice soup (not on the menu) or the hot sour soup, a couple veggie dishes, scallops and peas, and your other favorites and you'll be in hog heaven...guaranteed. Best to go with a party of 8-10 so you can pig out with as many dishes. The place is known for the eggplant dish...drool.

Affordable Local Chinese Food

A local favorite with authentic Chinese food. Try out the Taiwanese brunch food items- soy bean milk to dip in deep fried bread. Very different and not something you can find, other than in Chinatown or Dew Drop Inn Restaurant.

I'VE BEEN A PATRON OF THIS GREAT PLACE FOR OVER 30 YEARS. IT'S STILL THE SAME TASTY NORTHERN STYLE CUISINE TRHAT I GREW UP WITH. NOW,I TAKE MY FAMILY THERE ON OCCASION, BUT MOSTLY MY WIFE AND I ENJOY THE OUTING. STILL GREAT VALUE,WITH GREAT TASTE! TRY IT, AND YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK TO THE USUAL CHINESE FOOD. ALOHA ROBERT!

It's da eggplant

Robert and his staff at the Maple Garden Restaurant have fed our family since 1978. For family celebrations, a quick lunch, a delicious dinner, this is the place. My favorites: Hot Sour Soup, Spicy Garlic Eggplant, Chinaman's Hat, Shrimp Maple Garden, Garlic Green Beens.

The food at Maple Garden is delicious, and the service is quick and friendly. Casual atmosphere, almost always a party going on in the VIP room! One of the best Chinese restaurants in Honolulu.
