Top of Waikiki
Don’t do it. Save yourself the hassle and money and dine elsewhere. The servers are not accommodating at all, including the so-called management. When we asked for something as minimal as bread for the table, we were given a long explanation from the server and John the manager on duty about how the bread was no longer available. However, shortly afterwards, we witnessed other tables receiving bread, most likely without even requesting it. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of a MUCH LARGER ISSUE. My husband and I were there as part of a large group and at the end of the meal, we were all informed that separate checks could not be issued and that we would all have to remain on one large check. Once again, John, the manager on duty failed to correct the situation when it was brought to his attention. This forced everyone to recall everything they had ordered (drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, etc.), circle it on the bill, pay for it one person at a time and then pass the bill around the table for everyone else to do the same. Needless to say, this created confusion that could have very easily been avoided if the servers weren’t being lazy about splitting the check AND if John would’ve performed his duties as a true manager. Everyone paid their portion of the bill and left the restaurant only to find out the next day, there were UNAUTHORIZED pending CHARGES placed on credit cards. One credit card in particular had a pending charge for close to $800 and was only authorized by the credit card holder for $200!!! So not only did the Top of Waikiki receive payments from each individual in our party via cash or credit card, they also tried to make one individual pay for the ENTIRE BILL. So again, I urge you to avoid this disaster and dine elsewhere. Top of Waikiki is overrated, overpriced, the service is substandard at best and the food is mediocre. If anyone from the Top of Waikiki management is reading this review, I DARE YOU to challenge this TRUE STORY.
