Side Street Inn
Hosted by a few of Honolulu's best chefs, this restaurant opens only after their own kitchens shut for the day. Because Side Street Inn is located on the busy industrial side of town, it's a bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Contrary to what you would expect, the food is delicious and they serve big portions. Although high in calories, everyone is a fan of the tasty menu and that's why its sometimes hard to get a seat in this always-packed restaurant. Another definite reason to stop by is the commendable service. Side Street Inn even has karaoke nights and television sets for the sports fans, so go on and enjoy some local Hawaiian culture.
The food was great and the pork chop was the best. But the service was so bad and I believe that they do not like FILIPINO customer. lt turned out to be a bad experience. It started from the valet parking attendant, the host, and waitresses BAD customer service's ALL LOOKED GROUCHY AND NO ALOHA AT ALL. Obviously the service we received on our table is different with the table next to us. Is it because we were all in work clothes and not wearing our jewelries and expensive clothes & bags? We felt DISCRIMINATED.
sept.02.09,my first time there, surprise by the large portion of food.
the chinese short grain fry rice i very tasty, the fish dish is very good,
and the pork chops is every well done. Be sure not to order too much.
The place is kind of run down, and the side street is very crowded, hard
to get a parking spot. Will be back for sure, and will bring my buddy
there.June,2011, my buddy went there in 2010,he did not enjoy this type of food, but I just
went there with my wife, the food and services still tops, we will be back.
One of the most overpriced places in Hawaii. Average food. Mostly locals here for a watering hole. Kitchen is filthy and smells of disease. Owner has an overgrown ego but sure knows how to milk people well. Bottom line, find another place to spend your money.
If you love your pupus, you'll love the chop steak here! Went there with a bunch of coworkers, and we had a great time! We did have to wait a very long time for a table that would fit all of us, but it was worth it. We had a lot of fun! Even the mixed drinks are good (though I would've thought it was a beer kind of place). We also sang karaoke from our booth and generally had a great time. Very laidback atmosphere and always busy. You may have to park around the next block, though, so I recommend carpooling if possible.
The biggest reason everyone gathers at this beachfront restaurant is the music and the patio sunsets. The sound is "Contemporary
Hawaiian" and appeals to a youngish demographic. Groups that often play here are Kapena, Makana and Lilikoi Sisters (Friday ...
