Wailana Coffee House

Description

Every city has a Wailana Coffee House - it's been around forever and has become an institution. Located just across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village at the entrance to Waikiki, it does a brisk 24-hour business. Most folks say the breakfasts are the main draw here; the pancakes, waffles, and egg dishes are available all day and night. Try the Portugese sweetbread dipped in egg batter. The salads are also tasty, and the dinner specials offer great value.

Place was weird. We stopped here for a coffee to go and the lady said to us, its a small coffee for $2.40 or something why you want it. So then we just left and went to starbucks.

Love it. Awesome breakfast anytime of day. I moved away some time ago and still miss the waffles. I always suggest this place to any friend who is traveling to the island and staying in Waikiki. They always thanks me when they come back.

Love this place. My grandchildren like it so much they walker farther to go there than to go to fast food. Good prices, friendly people and lots of food.Always worth going there.

The cocktail lounge has $1 karaoke songs and fries and is NOT a hostess bar. When it closes it's nice to finish up the conversation in the 24hr. Coffee House diner. The portions are large and fruit salad is available for the vegan in the crowd. Quaint.

Three starving people ate well for less than $40 when we showed up on the red eye this summer. I read some of the other reviews and don't know what these one-star people are talking about. We loved this place. Its a good honest establishment run by normal people who aren't fake and stuck-up. If you're looking for a place where you feel at home then this is it. If you want to go to another expensive restaurant where the food and drinks are overpriced and the staff acts like royalty who are being imposed upon then find someplace else - there's plenty out there.

A very freindly local coffee shop. It was very convenient to the Hilton Hawaiian Village (easy walking distance). We went there twice during our 4-day stay in HNL. Very wide selection of items on the menu. We went mainly for breakfast food. They had a $5.75 2-egg, bacon, and all you can eat pancake special. Most of the breakfast items were under $8. The pancakes were very large. They had a kids menu too. I highly recommend it.

I breakfast here every time I'm in Oahu
By ,
This is the best breakfast spot on Oahu. I have the Hawaiian Breakfast (Eggs, Corned Beef Hash and Fried Banana) Great food, great value, and, although rushed, great Aloha Spirit by the staff. The wait in line is worth it.

Best breakfast in Oahu!
By ,
The food is amazing, and so is the coffee. We live here, and we drive all the way around the island to go there for breakfast. It's totally worth the trip every time. Sometimes there's a little bit of a line outside, because it's so well known and such a good bargain, but it's worth the wait. Try their guava-filled french toast, or the eggs benedict.
