Git on up at this down-home country style saloon. There is live entertainment five nights a week. In addition, there are pool tables, dart boards and free country dance lessons. This is one of the few night spots in Honolulu that has an after-hours license; the place stays open and serving drinks till 4a each night. The live bands are mostly from the mainland and offer good, authentic country music. Occasionally a minor country star shows up to perform. There is no cover charge.
When visiting Hawaii for quite a few weeks, my friends all prefered Mooses bar, but I LOVED Nashvilles. Being British, to me it seemed like a great slice of the US, like something out of a Clint Eastwood movie. Relaxed, friendly and fun, I had many a good time there. Be sure to check out their fun casino nights and I loved meeting and chatting to the local marines and army personnel who frequent there.
Nashville Waikiki is a place you could walk by and not even know you missed. It is located on Kuhio, which runs parallel to the infamous Kalakaua Blvd in Waikiki. It's located under Chilis, under the Ohana West Hotel. This is one bar you shouldn't miss. Clientele is mostly made up of military and local folks. A DJ, in the center of the club, takes requests (and plays them fairly quickly). There are 3 pool tables, a dart board, a dance floor, and many other tables to sit and drink to your heart's content. There is no cover charge and they have drink specials throughout the evening. This place is a great place to just hang out, drink a beer or two, and listen to great music.
