Singha Thai Cuisine
Tourists and locals alike consider this place to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the world. The elegant decor is ornamented by many Thai artifacts and flowers; graceful Asian dancers perform nightly. The chefs carefully and artistically prepare their dishes using fresh, organic vegetables, meats and seafood. The final presentation is wonderful, and the flavors are outstanding. This spacious restaurant is located between Waikiki and Ala Moana.
They never told us about the 15% SURCHARGE, which was added at the last moment of paying. So, we paid 20% tip, $10 tip to dancers, and 15% SURCHARGE. Making our 2-person dinner $100+ despite we ordered only soup, pad thai and soft drink and water.
*** Are there anybody who was not charged the 15% surcharge?
Three tables seated after my wife and I are waited on before us. My food was ordered as Thai hot(fire hot), Louisiana hot sauce would have been hotter and tasted better. Wife's food all tasted the same. Wait staff never came to check on to see if we might like another drink, glass of water, tea or how was our meal. One of the worst experiences we have ever had.
I don't know what singha means but my boyfriend and I created a new meaning for the word singha--it means overpriced! Even in New York city, I have never seen pad thai priced at $19.99. Hawaii is known to be pricey but I don't know what made Singha think they can charge what they charge. The braised beef I ordered was good but Matt's mahi-mahi was quite unsatisfactory that I convinced Matt to have it changed. Luckily, they graciously switched his dish to king prawns which was so much better. I just don't think its right to spend $100 for dinner for 2 at a Thai restaurant, that is simply SINGHA!
My husband & I are both hindu and went to Hawaii in September of 2004 for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Villiage in Honolulu. We went to Singha Thai Cuisine because it was within walking distance (one block)and we love spicy food. We loved this restaurnt so much. The food was prepared wonderfully. Flavorful and spiced the way we like it. They also had entertainment of a thai dancer dressed in traditional attire. It was great and still talk about it to this day. We always recommend it to anyone who stays there.
