Duke's Restaurant & Barefoot Bar, Honolulu

We had reservations for 9 and even arrived at 8:30 (2 people). My girlfriend and I were not seated until 9:55. We watched in the waiting area as other people arrived and were seated before us. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. I understand that this restaurant may have historical appeal, however, if you're looking to get decent service or decent food, this is not the place to go. You are better off just buying a T-shirt and eating somewhere else.

on a recent 10 day stay at Waikiki we found Dukes to be excellent,whether breakfast,lunch or dinner or a quick drink after a surf out the back.The service was the best we have ever experienced (but that seemed to be wherever we went) Breakfast was my favourite, an omlette cooked while you waited with whatever ingredients you picked,plus the lineup of tropical fruits was mouthwatering Definately didn't find another Breakfast in Waikiki to top this one $15.00/hd.all you can eat buffet. Not a place for children at all. Food was not that great. My husband ordered a seafood dish and only got three shrimp on his plate and couldn't make out what kind of clumpy fish was in the dish. I dont like paying a hundred bucks for a meal and not even enjoy it or have any alcohol to go with it. I waited for two hours and still had poor service. NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Dukes in Honolulu ( and also in Huntington Beach),has the best meals around,fresh fish ,great drinks and the service is always impeccable.Its a must stop on our itinerary always!!

Don't even remember what the food was like! It's not about the food, but the ambiance. Sat out on the patio, walked out into the sand and watched the awesome sunset! Also met some great people.

I live in downtown Honolulu and ride bikes ( to prevent DWI and parking fees) with a few friends and like to spend part of a weekend afternoon or evening at Duke's at least two or three times a year, for the last 14 years! I love it. Buffet is great, music is great, bar is great, lots of people there to have fun,and talk with and see Hawaii with people from around the world. And don't forget Duke himself. Wow the pictures from the 20s! It been going there for over a decades and hope it continues long after I am gone. I am a fan. I love Wakiki. Hawaii. Duke, my home!

The food is average. My wife who is 42 years old was refused a drink because she did not have her ID. Pretty sad on the service if they cannot make a judgement call....not recommended.

MY HUSBAND AND I JUST RETURNED FROM A TRIP TO ALL THE HAWAIIN ISLANDS. HE BEING A SEASONED FISHERMAN AND SEAFOOD LOVER RATED DUKES A-1, 5 STARS FOR ALL OUR FISH DINNERS. 2ND IN LINE WAS QUINNS ON OAHU. DELICIOUS! TED AND KAREN 1/2011

Dukes is a great spot for both locals and tourists. The beach patio is fantastic and the music (small bands). The food is something to be desired but again you are there for the scenery and the music.

My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and this is one of the places we went for breakfast. He had been to Duke's before and wanted to take me there. I LOVED their breakfast buffet! It was just excellent! For the price we got so much food! The bacon was thick and very good, and they had such a huge selection and even had coconut flavored syrup for the pancakes! mmmm! It was excellent! We were also able to sit outside and had the most beautiful view of the ocean. it was so awesome and something I will never forget!
