Wong Kung Chop Suey
Wong Kung is a long time neighborhood chop suey house in the heart of the historic plantation town of Waipahu on the leeward side of Oahu. The restaurant is easy to spot in the Tropicana Square strip mall from Farrington Highway. The exterior is about as plain as the interior, but area residents come here for the quality Chinese offerings and the very reasonable prices. The daily specials are a hit with lots of yummy items for well under the price of a latte. On weekends, the spacious dining room becomes a place for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, graduations and more. - Lottie Tagupa
Our family used to dine here regularly when it was at the old location. A few years ago I moved back to the area and stopped in. Good food, friendly service. The lunch and dinner plates are a good deal if you eat alone as I do. I've tried most of the menu and have nothing to complain about.
We really enjoyed your service through out the many years of our birthday parties, graduation parties, baby showers and our occassional dinners out. I especially appreciate the wonderful accomidation given for my father's 80th birthday party in '05. Our biggest mahalo to you once again.
I love this place. I have been going here since I was a little girl. Mike and the staff is very friendly. The service is fast and the food still comes out ono. Everything on the menu is tasty. We have brought many friends and family members there, and now they go there at least once a week.
Wong Kung Restaurant is a small neighborhood Chinese Restaurant that I've frequented for years. This family business serves ono tasting Chinese Food. The staff is very friendly and service is quick. Family favorites are the Kau Yuk, Sizzling Beef and the Soft Gau Gee Mein with Vegetables. They also have different lunch plates daily and a dinner plate, that is ono too!
