my grandparents go here every thursday nite. the service is wonderful; the servers are really nice and friendly, and every now and again the owner and his wife come in and eat. i know that because my grandparents come every thursday they are well-known amongst the staff, so you may be thinking that they get fair treatment. but in fact, they treat all their customers as if they were the most-paying, like my grandparents. the food is also pretty good, and i'm sure you all will agree with me.

homey, awesome food, a bit pricey for locals but a special place for special occasions...you get treated like family. Have spent many a special occasion here, anniversary, send off for visiting malahini's and just because. Highly recommended! CW

The Makawao steak house had O.K food but the Ambiance was great! The onely thing unheard of was the service! It took 2:00 before the food came out!

Very good service. The atmosphere was very romantic with a fireplace, glowing candlelight, soft music. Food was excellent. We would not hesitate to go back again or recommend to friends.

I have been to this restaurant several times and always enjoyed the experience. The Prime Rib is excellent and a good value. Atmosphere is pleasantly rustic. Service staff is hard working and concientious. I highly recommend a visit there. Their steaks are the best choice. Seafood is second.

I was dissapointed to read the reviews about this restaurant and just had to add my experience. I visited Maui July through November of 2005 and got to know the management quite well as I frequented the restaurant often. We had great service and I came to find out through talking to the owners that some of the waitstaff had been shuffled around and now I see that they have improved quite a lot on service- mind you, it isnt traditional fine dining- but the waitstaff is friendly, local and seem to care a great deal about the job their doing. Its comfortable, the food is really quite good and the atmosphere is condusive to relaxing. Our favorites are the Prime Rib and it was outstanding, my wife had the Barbeque Ribs which she thoroughly enjoyed and my mother and father had lobster (which was 10ozplus!) and Alaskan King Crab Legs. So, I have to recommend this place to visit, I think the other review'ers' must have cought them on an off night! Highly recommend.
