I don't normally write reviews, but I thought this place deserves a good flaming and I'll caution you on this one. We ordered a couple of drinks and then followed with the crab salad, a side of veggies, and the fish and chips. Hey, I figured that the fish and chips should be pretty goodso what the heck. Turned out that everything was way overcooked. The crab didn't have that fresh crab taste and was chewy. The veggies looked like something that came out of the freezer and popped in the microwave for too long. And sadly, the fish and chips were so overcooked that they sort of had the consistency of chicken. My Mai Tai tasted something like a Margarita with rumbut I'll chalk it up as their special twist on things. Sorry to write such a negative reviewbut if you've only got a few nights in Maui, you might want to enjoy your dinner at a place like David Paul's just a few blocks away.
The place is really romantic and cozy. We know its a bit expensive here but we didnt know that the serving was soo small! Its just not worth it. and the taste isnt that good. I had a cold pasta. Not worth it
One would think there isn't a bad seafood dish to be had in a place that's right on the water. I had the cioppino and the shrimp, clams, crab, etc. were overdone and the sauce was terrible. My wife's meal wasn't any better. Upon entering, the reservations person was rude and inconsiderate.
Forget this place.
They have a nice selection of fish here, and they can prepare it a number of different ways. The fish is fresh, the meal somewhat creative. What I really didn't like about the place was the service. They seem to not pay much because the staff is really inexperienced. My partner was elbowed in the head by a server who did not apologize. The meal took forever, and I had to repeatedly ask for things. Not my idea of a good meal.
The wait for a table and the price you'll pay is not worth it in my opinion.
The Sea Bass I had would make you lay down and weep, I loved it. It had a lovely Hawaiian name that I can't remeber, much less pronounce. The price wasn't cheap, but I'd say overall it was worth it. The drinks were ok. The service was good, but the food was great. The Calamari was the best I've ever had, but not by much.
We've eaten here each time we've visited Maui. Get there early to ensure you get a table overlooking the water and enjoy the sunset. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, the food is good and the service is unobtrusive. The selection of entrees is varied and fresh and I've never been disappointed. Overall, Lahaina Fish Company is an expensive meal, but, oh! the views. There can't be many better places to eat dinner than looking out over Lahaina harbour toward Lanai while watching the sun drop into the Pacific.
Great place for dinner, it was well worth the money. We had a group of 10, and they were able to accommodate our large party with prior reservations. Everyone was very pleased with the food and the service.
We have traveled to Maui every year for the past 10 years. We had always eaten at least one meal at the Fish company but never again. When we went in 2006 we got cold food and the potatoe that the waiter brought me was rottin inside. He thought it was funny and said it looked bad but decided to serve it anyway. The next year 2007 the service was worse then the year before and the food they brought was wrong and cold. Never will I eat there again.
We had lunch here and it was so good! The view was incredible, service was attentive and prices weren't bad considering we were eating fish with a view of the water in Hawaii. We had eaten dinner here about 7-8 years ago and it was great back then too, so it was nice to come back and have a good experience.
