Lahaina Grill, Lahaina

We eat hear every time we go to Maui and have never been disappointed. It is a bit spendy, but well worth it. The wine selection is great and the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. Food is out of this world!

Our experience at the Lahaina Grill is by far the best dining out experience I have ever had. I had the Kobe beef, which at $88 for a serving gets the expectations pretty high. Well, my expectations were met and I would definitely have it again. The total for two people after a pre-dinner cocktail, a $97 Zinfandel, and Cognac & Whiskey after the meal, was $369 (plus tip). So it's by no means a place to eat if you're on a strict budget, but for a dining experience that'll last you a lifetime I feel it was worth every penny.

We went there in Dec 2007 and from the line waiting to get in, were expecting excellent fusion cusine and great wine as well as a large check. We got the large check, very salty, rich food, spotty service including a forgotten dinner order and a waiter who took it upon himself to decant the red wine (by pouring it upside down like a jug of gallo) after I pronounced it excellent upon opening. When I politely asked, if they always did this, he replied yes. I'm OK with decanting, but tell me why before I order a wine why you belive it needs to be decanted. Four of us ordered the tasting menu and apparently since we also had a birthday cake, instead of giving us our desserts, he brought one out, gave it to the birthday girl with instructions to share. From my tasking menu, the lamb was the only item that was drop down excellent and I am still waiting for my dessert. For an average of $75.00 per person without drinks, (most wines over $100.00 per bottle, f.y.i.) very disappointing.

... this is a bit pricey but you will have a great meal. Drinks, deserts and seafood are all topshelf. Worth a try. Also, try The Plantation House

The crabcakes, ahi tuna, and their steak are just awesome! If you want a nice place with great ambiance in a beautiful part of town - steps off the ocean...go to David Paul's. We celebrated a birthday at the restaurant and they sent us a discount for the following year if we returned -- we're goin' back! Definately NOT a place to take any kids.

David Paul's buries any other food I've found in Maui. This restaurant is amazing. They prepare fresh and innovative cuisine with unique combinations. I went here for New Year's Eve and had the outstanding blue corn crusted chilli relleno and the chicken with mushrooms. It was hard for not to lick the plate and if the location had been less fancy I probably would have. Their wine list is outstanding though completely overpriced, but then again it is Maui so you kind of have to expect that.

this restaurant has it all. they have a great location, in the heart of all the shopping, great food, and great service. it's a little pricey, but worth it, and they even give you gift certificates towards your next meal if it's your birthday. the food is so delicious...the salmon delicious and mild (not fishy), the steak tender, juicy, and extremely flavorful, and the lamb, no words, ok i'll try. tender succulent, mosit, flavorful and mild (doesn't taste so wild). ambiance, oh they treat you like royaly. glasses are always filled. oh i almost forgot the dessert. the key lime tart is a feast for the senses, while the mocha ice pie w/ chocolate sauce is a rich decadent coffee chocolate concoction that will leave you happy enough to call that your perfect ending to your last meal, should it be your last meal, on earth.

This is the best in Maui!! It's pricy but the food is unbelievable!! I never had a better meal! If you want to have an outstanding dinner, go to David Paul's Lahaina Grill. GREAT! Thanks David Paul.

This eatery was the highlight of my vacation. Truly, David Paul's Lahaina Grill creates an evening experience that rivals fine dining in the city. Except, this hot spot has one up on the citifed -- it is in the beautiful paradise of Maui! What more could you ask for? The highlights on the menu are the Bufala Salad, Cake Walk, Firecracker Shrimp, and Road to Hana for dessert. Pure heaven... be ready to spend some money, but it's well worth it.
