Locals have loved this place since 1989. It attracts Lahaina's young, hip setyou can find them here at all hours. This is perhaps the most colorful local bar and grill in a town that's full of them. Just look for a crowded open patio facing Dickenson Street and you are sure to find this popular place. One of the reasons this eatery is beloved is Chef Will Munder, who offers an eclectic menu featuring fish tacos, island fish salads, and wonderful vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Well glad to see bill likes a wise ass server, at coolers it would help if the half bald server would do just his job, serve me my food and don't make comments about anything unless I ask....that guy really needs to take a good close look at his life
Was there last week, twice. Once for breakfast and once for lunch.
Found the breakfast to be excellent. Four of us went, had four different dishes and all were outstanding.
Found the lunch to be equally as delicious 2 days later.
I thought that the service was more than excellent. We had a great waitress (originally fom England) who treated us well, was attentive and friendly.
When we went back for lunch, the waiter (originally from Wisconsin) had us laughing the whole time we were there. He was funny, friendly, and made us feel right at home (Possibly because he was self proclaimed to be from a long line of wise-asses.)
We went back the night before we left to buy a gift certificate for my brother-in-law, who is going there next month.
We arrived bright and early when they opened for breakfast. Our waiter was drunk. Our coffee arrived in dirty mugs. Our waiter had dirty hands and finger nails. I saw him take a bussing rag and wipe his sweaty forehead with it and then returned it to where he got it from (the staff could have used it to wipe tables with.)The ketchup bottles had 5 years worth of black grossness built up around the neck, I didn't go near it in fear of getting bochalism and hesitantly continued to pick at my flavorless food. Overall experience: traumatizing and awful. At first glance, prices weren't bad but everything else was and I would much rather pay a lot of money for good food and a pleasant ambiance than a little money for terrible food and an awful experience.
My wife and I spent the morning here for breakfast after my step-son's wedding. The place is completely open and we sat on the outdoor patio which is very comfortable. The Rumbled Eggs are the best and couple that with one of their Bloody Mary's and you'll have a combo that just can't miss. If there are two of you order a fruit plate too so you can sample the fresh pineapple, bananas, and strawberries before your meal. Also, if you fancy hot sauces, be sure to grab a bottle of their custom blend to bring home to your breakfast table. Mahalo!
This place is open early for breakfast and until midnight for dinner. Our airplane was late arriving in Maui and we had to rush to meet the owners of the condo we were renting in Lahaina. By the time we got the car and housekeys, we were famished at 11:00 PM. Nothing was open on Front Street, not even a convenience store. Luckily we stumbled onto a late night scene at Coolers and were surprised when they offered the full menu -- we chose the Ceasar salads, ribs and chicken. All were delicious. We returned several times for breakfasts and dinners during our 2 week stay in Maui. Wait staff were unfailingly helpful and quality of food consistent. Mid-range prices.
We really enjoyed the casual and cozy atmosphere. There is a small bar which attracts a lively, local crowd. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly. The eclectic cuisine tasted wonderful! Off the beaten path and flash of Front St. Looking forward to going again next year.
