Buona Sera Italian Restaurant, Kailua

Buona Sera is a cozy Italian restaurant that has been a Kailuan favorite for a long time. On weekends, make a reservation or get there early. A loaf of piping hot bread arrives as you put in your order. The entrees are familiar and reasonably priced (around $15). Some can be a little heavy on the butter and cream. The portions are not huge but adequate and the service is excellent. The restaurant is decorated wall-to-ceiling with empty chianti bottles wrapped in straw. A bottle of chianti arrives with colored markers for patrons to autograph, and it's later added to the collection.
