Located along Alii Drive in the heart of Kona, this Thai cafe offers high visibility from the street and of the beautiful Kona sunsets. The tiny restaurant offers great value for Thai standards that have been toned down for a mid-American palate. However, the Pad Thai is still done well and quite tasty. Mid-day outside on the lanai can be a humid experience, but it's one of the best spots along Alii Drive to see and be seen. There is lots of free parking in the lot at the rear of the restaurant and the service is attentive and cordial.
I have lived in Kona for two years and have not yet found a Thai restaurant the equals this one.
I highly recommend the Thom Kah Chicken with Sticky rice..its a bit pricey but there is enough for two meals and is this best Thom Kah i have ever had
The Shrimp Pad Thai $14 had carrots and cabbage in a red wet sauce w/o peanuts. Not Good. Red Curry w/chicken $10 was pretty decent, the take-out container is small. This does not come w/ rice- they charge extra. Unless you are there to be on Alii Drive, check out the other places in town.
If you never ate thai food you may like their food. However, i did not like any of the dishes we chose. The fish was overpriced and not even tasty. My friend dish was a seafood curry that had a lot of onion in it... The restaurant is very noisy. You can hear what every other people are talking. Never going back..
I like this restaurant because you know what you are getting. They have a picture menu, so it's easy to order something I like. My favorite is the old Thai standby--Pad Thai.
The restaurant is right across from the ocean, so the view is nice. The decor is simple. The food, however, is great!
they have the taste of real thai food. it was so delicious that i was very impressed. i kept going back cuz i was so addicted with everything from the tom yum and coconut soup to the lobster combo. as a thai food lover, i went to the other thai restaurants in kona as well. none of them are as good as thai rin at all. oh and they have the best thai iced tea ever
