Waikoloa Beach Grill, Waikoloa Village

The food is excellent and the service is great. We go here when ever we want to go out for a nice dinner. They are getting very busy - so make reservations.

Recommended to us by our resort as 'casual dining' - it was: they let us in in t-shirts and flip-flops...and proceeded to wow us with fabulous food, fun menus, and incredible wine, to say nothing of meeting both the chefs/owners! My husband had the chicken pot pie - this had the most gourmet presentation I've ever seen, and the pastry for it (and all pastry items) were done by an award-winning pastry chef that does the wedding cakes for movie star weddings on the island...Its $23 price tag had less to do with the island (steaks average $40 a la carte there) or with the proximity to a golf course, and much more to do with the incredible level of experience and ability that the chef-owners have. Everything was delicious, and we went back the next night for dessert, as we couldn't fit it the first time. (PS - try the Vino Nobile de Montepulciano on the Chef's Special Wine List!)

The food was good and the service was excellent. The server recommended a special and it was excellent. They salads were interesting also. But it is a resort restaurant (and on a golf course), so the price is just a little higher than what you might find off the resort (but it is not outrageous).

On Jan.19/06, after a long and trying day of travelling, we were treated to an absolutely fabulous dining experience at the Beach Grill restaurant. The restaurant is immaculate, ambiance wonderful, serving staff friendly, attentive and timely, the food - ah, the food. . . the flavours, the presentation, the generous portions - who could ask for more? But wait, I haven't mentioned the desserts - absolutely, unbelievably scrumptious. It was a dining experience I will remember for a long time; perhaps forever. (I consider myself a credible critc, since I'm a very good cook myself!) If you're treating yourself to a meal out while in Waikoloa, make it here.
