Teshima's Restaurant
Description
This family-run Japanese restaurant is a South Kona landmark. Grandma Teshima, the original proprietor, is over a hundred years old. This small, family-friendly eatery is a special place that still retains that old-time, iconic atmosphere that is the foundation of flavorful and well-done traditional Japanese cuisine. The menu includes pork tofu served in an iron kettle, shrimp tempura along with Okinawan potato tempura, misoyaki butterfish and tasty miso soup. For those passing though Kainalu in the morning, stop by the okazu window for a unique picnic on the way to the volcano. - Lottie Tagupa
