Big Island Grill, Kailua Kona

I just love Big Island Grill! They have real local food and you know how you can tell before you ever see a menu? look around you at who is eating there, it's locals.... the firemen were eating there last time I was and, everyone in the neighborhood on their lunch breaks. They have the best Loco Moco! Every plate of food is big! I mean BIG! Those firemen I saw eating there were huge dudes! They looked happy and like they do that all the time!

This little place has the best loco moco and macnut pancakes I've found anywhere, and I've tried a lot of places. For a big breakfast this is the place.

Good solid plate lunch food. Excellent fatty pork roast and gravy (forgive me my heart and arteries!).

A good local-style food establishment, run by a local family. Friendly staff. Always busy.

great local place to eat. Best in town. Sometimes there is a wait but its worth it. Try the desserts especially the BIG Island Pie. Huge icecream cake with chocolate, raspberry, and mango sauces. worth the price. No alcohal served. Service is wonderful. Restaurant closes during the holidays for a week and takes their employees on vacation.

Great find for Hawaiian grinds ! Eat where locals eat (and savvy tourists) Good selection, daily specials. Very generous portions. Family owned business, closed Sundays and between lunch and dinner.

This, the best breakfast place in Kailua Kona, is the place where the locals come to celebrate a birthday. Delicious local-style food (heavy on gravy, fried foods, etc.). Desserts are famously rich and the size of Volkswagens.
