Hanalei Bay Resort & Suites
Few places are as romantic as Kauaiand few hotels cater to romantics to the extent that this one does. Weddings can be seen almost any day, and the hotel is full of honeymooners, folks on anniversary or vacationing lovebirds. Of course, people who are not in the middle of a great romance can also appreciate this gracious hotel and its gorgeous beach front setting. A myriad of entertainment options are within easy driving distance, but fine dining can be enjoyed right on the property at Bali Hai. Required seven night stay with Saturday to Saturday check in/out. Planned daily resort activites, community BBQs, family picnic area, guided tours, horseback riding, hiking trails.
We've been to Kauai several times, and the 2nd time we decided to stay here. Never stayed anywhere else since. There's nothing like the view of Bali Hai while drinking cocktails at Happy Talk lounge, or eating breakfast at Bali Hai restaurant. I'm partial to the North shore because it's so stunning, so this is the perfect location for me. It's very clean and there's always a perfect smell or site.
We travel to Kauai every other year and stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. We really love this resort and enjoy every minute spent on this island. We have always had beautiful accommodations and great service. Have a hard time reading some people's bad reviews, but I suppose some have different expectations when traveling. We highly recommend this resort and my advice to those traveling there to spend your time enjoying a beautiful resort and island. It's money better spent!!!!
If your looking for paradise you will find it here. The landscape is everything that you would expect to find in Hawaii. The pools have waterfalls to play in as well as the spa which you can sit and enjoy the warm water falling on you, or sit back in the cave and just relax. It is quite a hike down to the beach though but there is always a driver to come and retrieve you for the ride back up. It is close to the town of Hanalei where my favorite restrauant Kalypso is and other facinating shops. The north shore is about 30 minutes away. The rooms were mostly clean, sometimes a little late in the day but they did get clean. The concierge was very helpful at helping us plan all our activities and handing out directions. We will definately be returning.
We own 2 timeshares and this was by far the poorest quality in respect to the rooms. They are outdated, our lamps had cobwebs and dust on them, wallpaper peeling off the walls, terribly rusted refrigerator, and very uncomfortable couch in the living room. However, we understand that as of 1/1/07 they are putting new kitchens and bathrooms in every unit with new appliances, as well as a new living room couch. That will make a big difference.
We had a gorgeous view, the landscaping at the resort is beautiful. The pools are too cold to swim in, they should be heated. The Restaurant food was incredible. The concierege was wonderful and we got a few great deals on activities.
Anyone going needs to visit the Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant (best food ever) and Poscards (also fabulous food). We did find private beaches by talking to the locals. We had an entire beach blocks long with no one there but us!
Overall we had a wonderful vacation. We would only go back to Hanalei Bay Resort if the facilities actually do get updated.
My family loves the resort. We have a two bedroom suite every year for a week. Our last experience was everything and more than we expected. In addition to being beautifully appointed, the two room suites have their own Washer/Dryer and you can comfortably sleep eight people. It even has a murphy bed for additional people. The rooms each had a lanai and view of Bali Hai - Oh, the sunsets are indescribable. The concierge service was outstanding - we told her what activities we wanted to do and she made all the arrangements to fit them in. They even made dinner reservations for us at Kintaro's in Kapaa. This is one the best decisions we have ever made for a vacation-share.
we were there from sept 14-24,2005. We were married @ the anini beach (@10 minutes aways from the resort)the resort it's self was a dream,it was everything i wanted my trip to kauai to be and more! The staff was very nice and knew us by name! The primere pass gets you free breakfast and 2 drinks everyday! The sunsets were out of this world and that the north shore of kauai is were you want to go for romance and peace and quite that you don't get anywhere else on the islands! We will go back time and time again!!!!
The resort grounds are breathtaking! Very nice pool and hot tub. Friendly service, great restaraunt! I could go on all day!
The only negative is that when we arrived our room was not what we had expected. However, when the staff found out that my wife and I were going to be married on the island they more than made up for it. They put us up in a suite for 9 nights!!!
I will absolutley be going back for an anniversary very soon!!!
