Wahoo's Seafood Grill & Bar, Kapa'a

We were impressed by the food last night. Yes, a little pricey, but was very enjoyable and tasty. Even had a dessert of ice cream and bananas that was very good.

Fantasti!! The sea bass was great as was the filet and lobster tail. Delicious. We highly recommend Wahoo's and our server Chris was a delight.

VERY DISSAPOINTED! we had to go to a timeshare presentation to get 2 coupons, both were buy one get one free of EQUAL value. We showed the coupons to the waiter upon arrival, and he told us how they worked and confirmed what it said. Our picky kids did not want rice, they wanted fries instead, and he told us they could bring a side at no charge. Well, the highly gourmet dinner that had like 1 oz of meat only for the slamon dishes, for 28.00 each, were not even filling at all. My family had to get more food on the way home. The dinner was not very good. The lobster tail had paprike in abundance and was over done and chewy and tasted awful. The prime rib was boring as well. Outback outdoes this place by a mile. So, at the end, i was presented with a 161.75 check! I had TWO FREE meal coupons, we had a party of two adults and 3 kids. heres our meals: i got a combo of prime rib and lobster for 49.00, my hubby got prime for 39.00 and my 2 kids got salmon for 28.00 and my youngest got a french dip for 14.00 (not a regular french dip and refused to eat it, fyi)..so we ended up getting only the french dip and the prime rib off the bill..it was supposed to be: my meal gets the prime off, one salmon gets the other salmon off...per the coupon. They refused to honor the words of the coupon and told me its the vacation timeshares problem! The very rude manager obviously cant read a coupon to save her life! it clearly says buy one and get the equal value free! i can clearly read, so we should have had: mine takes off his, and one salmon takes off the other exact priced salmon! then they billed us 9.50 for FRIES!!! i couldnt believe it. he said to all of us, that the fries would not be charged, that they dont sub the rice on the actual plate becsue of the way the gourmet meal is presented but will bring the side for no extra cost, then we got billed...and guess what? they actually bill you a full 15 % tip if you use a coupon! the food was bad, they refuse to honor coupons they have out and the service sucked and they were all very very rude! THEN you will NEVER believe this: the manager lady gave me one of the coupons back and told me to take it up with the timeshare, and then she CALLED MY HOTEL and told me to bring the coupon back to her or she would bill me more money on my credit card!!!! IM NOT KIDDING! i told her i would never eat there again and that she gave it to me and what she said and she denied it..now how the heck did i actually get it back if she didnt give it back to me and tell me to do that!?? So, i told her i would leave it at the front desk of the hotel and she can come and get it herself! She said fine...could you believe that? unbelievable! NEVER go here, it was not only unfriendly but very obtrusive and horrible service and just a bad experience to eat there and be harrassed over the coupon and feel like that and then called after at the hotel! it is miserable, i would NOT reccommend this horrible place!

We liked this place. In fact, we went back for lunch. This place has a very gutsy chef who is willing to take some chances and creates some pretty complex dishes. The secret, though, is the hamburger. Yes, the hamburger. Go there for lunch and order it. The absolute best hamburger I've ever eaten. Gamey, island-bred beef. Perfectly seared. Feed Rosie the mule, too. Nice place.

My wife and I had a very pleasant and well prepared tasty meal on our first jet lagged night in Kauai at Wahoo's . Service was friendly and they had a donkey to entertain us !

My wife and I loved the atmosphere next to the coconut groves. The food was pricey, but the food was worth it's weight in gold. In response to Super Green's complaint, the location next to the road is more convenient then a restaurant located at Waimea Falls. The service was excellent, the food was wonderful, and the location is very close to Coconut Plantation making it a perfect fit for a romantic night out.

Well, it sounds like I must have visited this place on a bad night because I thought the food was overpriced, bland, and forgettable. I ordered the mahi mahi which was crusted with macadamia nuts and served with vegatables. The presentation of the dish was very nice but the only seasoning I could detect was salt, which is not impressive nor original. Also, the location of the resturant is right next to the main road, which is the view from the dinner area, very active, and not very relaxing when you are having dinner, and paying a pretty penny for each dish. Save your time, money and taste buds.

One of my favorite places in Hawaii. We were referred there for the Poke Salad, and were not disappointed!! It was delectable. We made 3 visits to Wahoo's in the week we were there, and the waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was wonderful. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!
