Pho Vy, Kapaa

My husband and I visited during our honeymoon. We were pretty excited about seeing a pho restaurant in Kauai--even one that made Vietnamese sandwiches! The reviews in the restaurants were great, but what happened on the day we went? The service was terrible, the food was average, and it was pretty pricy for a medium bowl of pho and two summer rolls. Why was the service terrible? They didn't happily greet us as we were the only two people in the restaurant. Then one of their servers brought out his food and ate in the restaurant while we were still waiting for ours--which took unexpectedly long. The summer rolls were only made with shredded lettuce and bean sprouts (and shrimp). The pho was $9 for a medium sized bowl with only flank and steak. Garnishes and herbs for the pho was extremely limited. Perhaps our expectations were too high with this being a pho restaurant. Perhaps we should have expected this being on Kauai??
