Wow-Wee Maui's Kava Bar
Anyone who's ever grumbled about the lack of late-night eateries on Maui, take heart. This unassuming little cafe stays open till the wee hours on weekends. The food is not what you'd expect from an all-night joint. It's healthy, fresh and varied. While grease junkies can get a hot dog or a pizza melt; healthier folk can order fresh fruit, bagels or jumbo salads. Specialty coffee drinks are also served. The latest addition is an oxygen bar, a one-of-a-kind addition to the Maui nightlife scene.
We have been going to Wow Wee Maui's for over 5 years and is a great first spot to hit for lunch when you land or anytime you happen to drive by or through Kahului area. The BBQ pulled pork plate is ono (delicious) and they have recently expanded their menu to include mahi mahi wraps, etc.. Definitely check this place out as not only is the food great but the workers real nice giving you that aloha spirit!!
My family and I stumbled upon this place and it was such a find. The food was cooked to perfection (I had the mahi mahi sandwich) and we all cleaned off our plates. I can't believe I didn't read about this place in any reviews. It was awesome and the staff was super nice. I only wish we had found it earlier on during our stay in Maui. Don't forget to pick up one of their chocolate bars-the Kona coffee one is my favorite!!
We ate there right after we got off the plane, just because we were hungry and it was there. Most of us had the barbeque pork plate. There must be something in that pork because we ended up coming back every day for 5 days. I'm craving that pork plate right now but unfortunately I'm 3000 miles away. We hope to be back this coming October (2008). It's the best. I even passed up Roy's and Mama's Fish House for Wow-Wee Maui's barbeque pork!!
What a nice place! They have captured a 'local' feel with the welcoming spirit of Aloha for weary travelers. We stopped on the way to our hotel from the airport after a long day of travel for dinner and were not disappointed. We went back for lunch several days later and bought some of the Kava Bars.
I hope they are still there if we ever return to Maui.
The first place I'll stop when I get to Hawaii again!!!!!

What a great place! The people were very friendly and the food was very good. The prices were very reasonable too. You can get anything from a taro burger to sushi to chicken, great variety.
Now, for the best part....the Kava. You can get straight Kava or Kava in a chocolate bar. The people explain the whole story about Kava and it really does relax you. The taste of the straight Kava really takes some getting used to, the kava chocolate bars on the other hand taste great right from the start!
