The Bridge Tender, Tahoe City

fantastic fantastic fantastic!!! After a long days hike my family and I were completely famished and decided to stop here for a late lunch. We had 18 people in our group ad they put us in 2 huge tables in a beautiful shaded corner. The service was right on the spot, every order was perfect, ever glass constantly filled. The beers were cold and their garlic fries were amazing, probably the best I ever had! I had the blue cheese bacon burger, my mouth waters just thinking about it! Prices are pretty affordable, burgers were around 8 bucks, beers were about $5.50, and a large basket of garlic fries were about $6. Pretty reasonable for the area. Oh, and this places patio where we sat was right along the Truckee river. I wouldnt recommend any other place!!

Awesome! I've been coming to the Bridge Tender for years. I used to go there before they moved across the street. I love the blue cheese and bacon burger...Yummy. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was the best he ever had. 5 stars

The bridge Tender was excellent at it's old location and now it's even better across the road at it's new location...we've been going there for 20 years...we love it!

My girlfriend and I stopped into the Bridge Tender in early March for Happy Hour. While I've enjoyed past visits to this establishment, this time was different. The barmaids were fast pouring the beers and serving them up with huge heads of foam, with no regard for a proper pour. While sitting at the bar, we couldn't help but notice the cook in the kitchen who was continually filling his pie hole with munchies and chewing with his mouth open. This continued for the duration of our visit and made us decide not to stay for food. This restaurant/watering hole could really thrive and return to its former glory days if only the management would take an active role.

We stopped on October 13, 2007 for lunch. The Food was excellent and the Service was great! If we get the chance to go back to Lake Tahoe, we would enjoy stopping for lunch here!

Check out the big trout while standing on Fanny Bridge over looking the Truckee River coming out of Lake Tahoe...great time! The food is pretty good, lots of differnet beer and a good time overall.

This is a fun little burger joint stationed along the banks of Lake Tahoe, right at the mouth of the Truckee River. Bridge Tender is great for a warm meal after a hard day of skiing at Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows. They specialize in burgers and salads, with a full bar, offering a wide variety of beers on tap. Great place for families to grab a meal. Seating is limited, so check out the parking lot to gauge the wait.

The Bridgetender has been around here for longer than I have been alive. If you tourists think the waitresses are being less than satisfactory maybe you should take a look at your own behavior. I have worked in the service industry in Tahoe for a very long time and some of the most appalling behavior I have aver seen has come from the tourists in this area. Every once in awhile a local might get short with you. Were you rude first? How people did you cut off trying to pull into the parking lot? Were you driving 15 miles an hour down the highway in a 40 zone looking at lake? Sometimes we get fed up. Give the waitresses a break. The food is great and if you're polite so will they be.

Best Burgers in town - hands down! Not to mention the beautifully terraced outdoor area along the Truckee River for drinking and dining! It's fun and worth the little money you'll spend there but more important is that you will have FUN and ENJOY your Tahoe experience!

Awesome juicy burgers, excellent fries!!! And the atmoshpere is awesome; down-home with an alpine feel, great place to hangout and get to know the locals. Is it a coincidence that most of the negative feedback came from bay-area patrons? Don't criticize the Tahoe lifestyle, just becuase you can't adapt.
